Hi all Feeling a bit worried/confused about reporting childrens attainment against ELGs to parents. I'm going to change my report formats to show if children are emerging, expected, exceeding against all ELGs and report on characteristics of effective learning. However, I have to give my final judgements to the LA next week, but my reports to parents won't go out until July. In my mind that still gives nearly all of the summer term 2 to help children progress - particularly those who I may report as 'emerging' against any ELGs next week, they may be at an 'expected' level by the end of the year? What is everyone else doing? Is anyone giving their judgements t…

Hi! Has anyone come across or written a letter for parents explaining the EYFS Profiles, the emerging/expected/exceeding jargon that they'd be willing to share? Thanks all.

Ofsted been and gone (totally unexpected, less than 3years on a outstanding last one!) So now I can experiment and try a few new things! Want to implement an electronic learningn journal and have been looking at a few ... Fingertips, 2simple, Tapestry. Does anyone know of any others? i am leaning towards one over the the others... But want to know what others are using and how easy it is to manage. Can tapestry be used on a school network system? Now that Tapestry has been updated does it track progress? Would we need to use PRAMS alongside Tapestry? Or are the two combined now? Soooo many questions! But I am excited! Thanks H,

What kinds of thing do people do to get children's input and contributions to their learning journeys? I know I have a good range of evidence, we are beginning to get some parental input and although there's not much it's not for lack of trying on my part. Where I'm really lacking is with any evidence of children's input but I'm struggling to know where to start.

Learning journeys for parents?

Can I just ask what happens to children's learning journeys in your settings? In previous schools I've worked in they had gone home to parents in the end, when the children finish in year 1 so their new teacher had them for the first year after reception and then to parents. My current school file them all in a loft... It seems a terrible shame. E x

Hi, Have been trying to find out how little a child must have attended in the Reception year in order to be exempt from being assessed against profile. have looked in ARA handbook which refers you to gov. website, which refers you somewhere else... I can't find it. We have a child who has attended for 10 days so far since Sept. but is still not 5 so we can't chase for attendance. Any ideas? Thanks
