Profile data collection

Hi – I am hoping you can help me out with a question regarding the EYFS profile. I have been reading and studying the ARA documents and exemplification materials in my holidays and cannot get my head around exactly HOW the data is to be collected. I understand the 1, 2, 3 A system that is going to be the judgement against each learning goal but have West Sussex or anyone else got a ‘form’ that we are to fill in or am I jumping the gun too early?! I have read that it says “EYFS providers may use any system to collect and submit EYFS data, as long as it enables practitioners to record completed profile data for every child at the end of the EYFS. However, EYFS provi…

I run a Pre-school and would be interested to hear how other practitioners complete the progress wheel - do you do just one for the whole year? or one for each term? I am looking at how to improve and hopefully cut down paperwork so any help or advise would be very appreciated. Many thanks

Our Reception teacher has just come back from a course on the new profile. I am confused. She understood the 40-60 months to be the same as the ELGs in bolder print. In Development matters the goals come clearly after the 40-60months section and the wording is different. Please could somebody help me out on this. Much appreciated.

I started in a new school in Reception in January and am just looking at the progress trackers for my class. The children were assessed on entry and then again in Dec - it seems some came in at secure 22- 36 months and by December were emerging 40 - 60 months completely missing the 30 -50 m band - does this seem accurate or possible? I realise the on entry assessment was more a brushstroke when children were new, though several would have come from our nursery and that it takes time for some to show what they can really do - it just seems a big jump for at least a third of my class?

Hi, I know this is late as seen as it is February but what did most people submit for their reception on entry scores? I am hearing from some people that 30-50 months is the 'average' child but from others that it is 40-60....anyone cast some light?! Thanks in advance!

Hello everyone Right this might be a stupid question, but since my last course (back in 2008) i haven’t been working or studying in this area. so im not quite sure how to use the revised EYFS to link it to activities for example, for these activities: story time, number ryhmes, water & sand play how do they meet the learning goals for these two ages of development 30-50 months and 40-60 months how do i link the 'Development matter statements' for the above activities And how can i differentiate the activities for the 2 age groups in order to help children achieve each appropriate learning goal. Any help will be much appreciated. …

ELG's and 40-60 months?
by Guest- 3 replies

I realise this is a really thick question but my manager and I have been looking at tracking data today and have gone around in circles and are now doubting ourselves!!! By the end of FS2 should the average child have achieved the early learning goals and do ELG's come after 40-60 months or are the ELG's a part if 40-60 months? X
