Help -maths Subject Leader!

just had a copy of maths subject leader in school. We are a Partnership FU. working together, children accesssing independant activities, 2 focusactivities on CLL and PSRN a day. Which is fine at moment. Or so i thought. she wants Learning Intentions, not 'just providing oppertuntities to>>>' this would not work in free flow where we are trying to work towards individual next steps. and success criteria in plans. A mental maths session and a 'daily time set a side for a short carpet sessionwith a maths focus.' 2 1/2 years to 5 on a carpet at once doing maths! we cover all aspects with our own Key children. Puting them altogether, would be a backwards step! …

I am working in partnership with a nursery - although we have different lines of accountability we share everything else! We are keen to develop and share all of our working areas and resources - any advice on managing shared activities? We plan jointly but retain control of our own children's focussed activities however there arte times when ability based tasks are more suitable maybe?

Just wondering whether others who are working in FSU's alter their routine in summer term to 'prepare' R children for transition to Y1? Or if not how do your routines work to ensure R are covering all the elements of Lit and num? Have read previous posts - particularly Marion's info about their routine - Marion how do you ensure all the children complete a certain number of focus activities each day - do you call the children to the focus in set groups or are they able to flow to them when they choose? Am i right in understanding that in a morning, for example, all the children would complete the relevant lit or num activity so therefore a different activity woul…

Offering Flexible Nursery Places
by Guest- 8 replies

Hi Help! Does anyone who works in a Nursery within a school offer flexible sessions? We only offer 5 and they have to accept all and naturally it's putting some people off sending children to us. Are we allowed to be more flexible and if you are - is it an admin nightmare or do you have successful systems in place? Thanks

Was wondering how to manage plannning in our foundation unit where I firmly believe in following children's interests (with a balance of adult initiated!) with someone who prefers topics. We're currently following the children's interests following observations when I plan for three weeks followed by three weeks of topic based work when the other teacher plans. the whole thing is becoming a mess. Any advice would be welcome.
