hi, Can anyone help me please. I am in Hampshire and before the new Framework came into being in September we did some training, through the moodle, about the changes and were told that this first year will be a transition year. Does anyone know where I can find the information to support this please. thank you

Forum friends I need your wisdom/ideas please. We currently have a group of children who have returned to school with a total lack of respect for our toys/resources. I have never seen anything like it. I see children treading on toys, throwing them and just totally mistreating them. And this is the older children not the younger ones. I have done all the usual things; modelling how to use toys, narrating how to look after them, being shocked, sad and cross when seeing tots mistreated and literally nothing is working and I am at my wits end. I feel like such a failure that I can’t get on top of the problem. We have always taught the children that if something is broken th…

Hi all i manage the nursery in a school. We are open 50 weeks of the year 7.30-6.00 and have been open for 5 years. currently we only offer 15 hours but are looking at offering 30 hours because our parents are starting to go elsewhere, where they can get 30 hours in one setting. Is there anything that we need to consider or any advice you have to aid this process? Any schools that have already been through this that can offer words of wisdom? Thanks

Anyone know where I can get some jazzy tabards from? One day in and my work polo top already has a bleach stain on it!

I had a phone call today from a family of a child starting in September. She asked what plans we had re: cleaning etc, she then went on to ask how much the excess cleaning levy would be 😳 I was stumped! I told we didn't have one- and she said why ever not? Her view was that parents should, and would expect to pay a little extra. She pointed out you now pay extra at the hairdressers etc. Has anyone actually considered this ? I have to admit I have spent a lot on cleaning, PPE etc- and were not even open again yet.

Is everyone going to be business as usual in September with regard to resources and access to them? Was wondering what everyone thought? Also .. transition for your children? How can we prepare them if adults are not allowed on site?

How are others managing their settling ins for September? We would normally do most of ours in July but we aren't allowed any visitors in the setting at the moment. Worried it's going to be very complicated with so many newbies starting in September and the restrictions in place because of COVID. Also don't want to delay fees coming in either. We normally have parents stay with their child for an hour during the session and we offer a couple of those sessions. Would be grateful for any suggestions!

Like many of, I have struggled over the last few weeks with so many decisions to make, so many questions from staff and parents, so many people to offer support to and so much worry about the responsibility and the sustainability. Some nights I couldn't sleep and some days I almost thought it would be easier to just decide not to open again. The planning and organising has been immense, especially doing it all from home as I am shielded. But I have a brilliant management team who have worked hard throughout and we finally opened last Thursday and I just wanted to say that when I received photos from my staff today of the children playing outside along with the comments f…

Well almost the end of the first week back...for those of us who did . So how are we all coping? Any issues ? We arrived to open on Monday all a bit scared to be honest, worried about how things would go but we soon realised we had made the right decision when we saw the joy on the faces of our four year old's as they arrived. We also realised some of our best laid plans weren't going to work (individual bubbles and tool sets etc) so we just decided to go with the flow. Tuesday they were all a bit grumpy (tired from the previous day). Weds we had to remind ourselves that we needed to remember why we were working like this because it was so easy and comfortable…
