Hi, I am laid up in bed and my brain is addled with pain killing drugs. Ofsted is due any moment now! Has anyone written a questionnaire for parents views ontheir nursery. If any one can share their thoughts and ideas on what to put in a questionnaire I would be very grateful as my mind is just not focussing on anything and I am getting stressed. Thanks in advance

Hi, I'm hoping that someone will be able to give me a bit of help and advice. I have recently started childminding. I currently look after my own child, an 8 month old, a 23 month old and his school pick up brother (4 1/2). The behaviour exhibited by the 23 month old is what I consider to be very challenging. I know that his parents use smacking, which I assume works for them, to an extent, however, I obviously can't do this. I ensure I give him a 20 min or so slot of undivided attention when the younger 2 are in bed for their morning nap. He also has a target card and privilages are withdrawn which casues screaming. I try all I can to prasie positive behaviour, no…

Hello there all just wanted some advise. I have a little girl in my nursery group who still has not settled into nursery since September. When I say hasn't settled the situation is this. She cannot leave her mother or father's side, she won't sit on the mat with the other children unless her mother/father sits down on a chair either and she has to ahve her hand on the parents leg to keep contact and security. If they try to leave (and we have done all the 'i'm going for a coffee and i will be back in 5 mins routines etc) she makes herself sick (being an afternoon child you can imagine that this is pretty yukky as all the dinner makes a reappearence!) The time it takes fo…

I wondered if anyone who works in a school that has GRT children would help me with my inclusion assignment. I am focussing it on the inclusion of GRT children and would like to ask what resources and activities nursery and reception provide to include the children of travelling families. I know one school has a trailer as well as a dolls house. Stories such as the four little pigs. If anyone has any other it would be helpful please. thank you killowengirl

Hi, it has recently come to our attention by accident that on top of an ofsted inspection the PLA now do a ragging on your setting to tell you if you are red, amber or green. PLA didn't tell us this we found out via someone else but PLA have said they'll do ours soon. We are trying to figure this out, what it means, what is needed to get red amber or green so if anyone could tell me more I'd be very grateful! Jo

Accident - Concerned Parent.

Hello all, One of the children at the setting recently had an accident where he banged his head (cur and bruised), on a table edge after running around with another child. We dealt with it by applying icepack and notifying the parents, etc. One of the parents is asking if we can make our tables any safer and is also requesting a copy of the accident form for her records. The parent has also told us that her child says he was pushed by the child he was playing with - but this wasn't the case and we have said so. How would you deal with this? Thanks, duggy.
