How To Get Boys Interested

Has anyone got any ideas how to get boys interested in painting, junk mobelling, glueing and sticking. All the boys want to do is empty the toys from the boxes and run around. This term has a large number of boys and we need to get them to having a go at the crafty things. Dose anyone know of a book that is full of ideas for us to try. Sue

Hi. i was thinking about investing in EY Essential (http://www.ey-essential.com/) through the PLA to make life easier at pre-school. Does anyone else use this and would they recommend it. It will cost £250 + VAT, so quite a lot of money but worth it if it saves time writing registers/producing invoices etc. Does anyone else use nursery management software that they would recommend? Thanks!

Hi, I realise that face to face courses are probably everyones preference but have found online courses in safeguarding children, fire safety, health and safety and several more that are cheaper than any of our locally held courses. As we are a small rural preschool who struggle for funds I am looking at online as a way of training staff but wonder what peoples opinions on this are and also whether the certification is as valued by OFSTED. Does anyone else use this method of training? Jo

Hi there - not sure if I've posted this in the right area but I thought it would be a nice idea to collect some fundraising ideas to pass on... I'm sure we've all got our old favourites from sponsored walks and raffles but we have a couple of other 'schemes' which are always winners... anyone else want to share their ideas?? 1. bag2school.com parents/friends collect clothing, bags, shoes, bedding, linen, curtains, soft toys and place in a special bag, bring to the setting on a pre-agreed date/time. Bag2school come along and collect the bags, weigh the donations and hey presto a few weeks later we got a cheque for £120! 2. easyfu…
