Any suggestions for a new self registration chart? We currently have flower heads that the children stick onto stalks (velcroed on) in a window box but feel like something new?

End Of Term Fee Owing People.
by Guest- 15 replies

We often have parents fail to pay or fall behind with the playgroup fees but this particular one this term is currently owing over £120. She has last month made the odd £10 or £20 payment bringing it down to this but generally she 'drops and runs' so we don't get informed. The little girl will be funded in Sept and will be elegible for 5 free sessions. I find it so cheeky that she brings her into 3 sessions without even mentioning the fact that no-one is paying for these sessions, she never even offers to help in other ways. I would love to be able to say she can't have her 5 unless she pays up, but a) It wouldn't be fair on the little girl, who is a joy to have or y…

Can children be sat on mums lap with a seat belt over them both- babies included!- can families go on trips without any seat belts providing they don't go on the motorway? I am getting so much conflicting advice I almost feel that not going anywhere! Grafetul for replies.

We use both our indoor and outdoor environment, but have recenly come up against our committee who do not agree with some of the activites we are providing... So i am very curious to know how and where other setting mark make, and if anyone else has ever been challenged?

Continous Provision- Inside/outside
by Guest- 8 replies

In our pre school room with around 24 children we have been operating with free access to the outside area but staff are saying they need 4 staff to keep it operational. There could be 18 out at any one time and the other 6 in with one staff member but say if needing the toilet this causes problems. It is not cost effective having 4 staff with 24 children. How are others coping with this problem. Any ideas would be appreciated. The idea works well but costing too much.

by Guest- 21 replies

Hello all. We have asked recently received feedback from parents that they still don't like their children becoming messy at nursery. I was going to make a poster and give it to parents at induction so they understand the importance of messy play as a part of the learning process. Before I start I wondered it anyone has one so I could gather some ideas??? Here's hoping

HI in our baby room we have two children who are lactose intolerant. in their diet we avoid lactose and dairy which is fine, but the other day the baby room staff asked me what 'other' sensory things they could give them to play with. apparently pasta is out of the question because of somthing it has in, as is custard, rice pudding, ice cream etc etc... as mean as it sounds we do not want to spend loads of money on special food products for the children to play with. so do you have any sensory ideas, in particular for these two children, but also for all children in the nursery. thanks in anticipation Dawn
