Hi all Have been talking today about preparing 'fruit and veg' at our village hall setting and have always understood that a Food and Hygiene Certificate is not required but would show good practise. However, a suggestion was made that we ask parents to provide addtional foods for snack such as ham, cheese, bread sticks, pitta bread etc. Does anyone know if members of staff would need a food and hygiene certificate to handle such foods?

Risk Assessment For New Building

I have asked a village hall if i can rent it for a week to run a new holiday club this summer. They seemed to dislike the idea of their lovely village hall having children in it (I may be being paranoid) but the reason they said no was they didn't think it was safe enough for children !? At the end of the day, Ofsted and I should be making that decision, not them. But I do feel this was just an excuse so i wouldn't fill it with children. So I phoned them and said, If i get an inspection and it is deemed safe may I use it. they couldn't really say no.. so I now need to get someone in.. maybe my development worker or my LA advisor? Can't get ofsted as not registered fo…

At the moments its all grass and get's very boggy in the winter the children dont want to go out. The pre-school committee are really up for developing the grassed area, but as i said the village com…

Parental Survey

We sent out a survey and have had some helpful replies, which is great even though it gives us more to do! Then this morning we got one back from a parent that only brings her child to one session. It was really snitty and basically a bit rude. She said it was a shame she never gets any feedback except when there is an accident! Which is a lie because I nearly always say something to her. Didn't last week because we had a very upset new child that took a bit of coping with. Then she said that the place was a bit muddy!!! Which is only on the way to the building and because we are in the middle of a field which she must have noticed when she came for the first visit. Thi…
