Odd thing to ask but it's been on my mind for a while. Does anyone know if a Playleader needs to work full hours to still be the Playleader? In other words, can a Playleader be part time? Would like to know what other Playgroups do. ppp

How come parents don't know that they have to register their child for school and how to go about it? We have had at least 3 this year who have done nothing! They assume that it will just happen! There seems to be a lack of information regarding the system in general. There is still confusion over the differences between a pre-school, a school nursery, a private day nursery and a reception class. We are still losing children to school nurseries even though we are in the grounds of a school! There is this idea that children 'just play' here and that school nurseries offer 'education'. We are planning to put our own guide together because we are obviously not getting the…

Hi Please help me...... I qualified two years age and have worked as a nursery teacher since that point, and must say that I never want to work with any other age range. The nursery where i work has two teachers employed in the unit and two TA's one of which has been there a long time is a HLTA....it is this lady i need help with....she contridicts me, does not always does as asked, and generally over steps the mark in terms of her role and mine! I have tried to address this with her but it is very difficult, I really like her on a personal level but feel i need to define her role and mine.....any help or advice with dealing with difficult staff memebers would be great. …

Being a pack-away-playgroup in a community building we can't use display boards or display the children's work on the walls. To combat this we have put up a washing line in our writing area where the children can peg up their work but I'd like to display more of the children's work The fold away displays boards are too expensive to buy but I have now read about cardboard display screens which Hope Education sold last year for around £30. I can't find anything like that now after a quick web search and wondered if anyone has heard of them or would like to share what they do if a smililar setting to mine. I look foward to your replies! ppp

we have decided to enhance our areas at work, everyone went into a draw and I have got Creative Area. It's the largest area and most public in a way so feel under pressure to do something really wow. Anyone got any ideas for what I could put out there that would draw the children into the area and want them to spend time there- I'm not talking adult led activities, more continuous provision. Thanks for any help

I've just had the news that I have secured almost £5000 to spend to help us show we are working within eyfs, I've got lots of ideas what to get but would be interested to hear about things you all may have that you have found to be excellent resources that the children really make use of etc? Thanks

I work at a 150 place day nursery. Today I wanted to check a pack so I went for a search around the nursery - I could only find 1 pack within the nursery and that was incomplete. Needless to say I'm shocked!!! I do my planning at home and have my own copy so I never realised that nobody else has them.
