Hi There I wonder if anyone can cast some light on my situation for me! I have been in post in my current setting for a few months now and have been really struggling in a few areas. We have a combination of 2 to 3 year olds and 3 to 4s all in one area and have been finding it difficult to engage the younger children. We have all the basic resources such as painting, sand, water, books, home corner, construction etc, but its not working out, me and my team (2 level 2s) seem to always be in a spin, just firefighting dealing with clashes and toileting, we are lucky if we get a planned activity up and running and if we do, it is often just destroyed or overlooked. Shy Children
by Guest- 13 replies

Hi this is my first post! My nursery nurse and I thought we would ask if anyone has any good ideas on how to build confidence and encourage shy children to feel more comfortable to talk. We have a very shy child in our school nursery and we have let her bring in a transitional toy which has helped her seperate from her parent but she is very shy and quiet and wont even say good morning at register time. Any suggestions? Thank you Amy & Colleen.

hi, i hope someone can offer me some advise, i have a member of staff that has a body odour problem, she appears to be clean and is well presented every time she is at work but by the end of the session the smell is noticable, i really don't want to offend her she is fairly quiet and is gaining confidence slowly, has anyone else had to deal with this problem? if so what was the outcome? thanks in anticipation!
