Hi I have been wandering around trying to track down some small teddy bears with T. Shirts that can have a personalised message printed. I am sure I have seen them with pre-school names on in one of the many catalogues but now I want them I can't find them Just thought one of you clever people might know where I can find them - not too expensive as I need to buy 35!!!!!

A 3yr old boy has just started in our setting and he doesnt speak any English. His 1st language is Lithuanian, and his parent speak enough English to communicate with us. His spoken language is quite good as far as i can tell, as his is understanding of his parents. Im struggling to find resources online to help, as theres not a lot for this language. I have picture flash cards to help if he wants something, and we are all continuing to speak English to him and show him with hand gestures and props. Has anyone else had any children from Lithuanian? and can u suggest any sites to help, or anything you did? Thank, Ali

I apologise if this is a question that has been answered before, I can't seem to find any info on it and hoped I could pick someones brains!! I would like to develop the idea of a 'Here I am' board and incorporate it as a feelings tree also but am puzzled as to whether I need to do a formal registration as well, for example in case we have to leave the building to do a fire drill. Would be really grateful if anyone has any thoughts on info on this. I am preschool supervisor in a preschool attached to a primary school with the head teacher also being the preschool manager so we follow a lot of school policies. I understand schools registers are a legal documen…

I have recently been on a first aid course and they recomended that we have tweezers in our first aid kit to remove bee stings if necessary. I know I should have asked at the time, but didn't and now i'm wondering "Are we, as practitioners allowed to remove bee stings from the children?" Any body have any advice?

Hi there all I am starting out in the Nursery within a school and am just wondering how people who have been there, done that are facing the new EYFS? Are there many changes? Where do I start? I have to do a meeting to all the new parents soon and it is a job in a new school so I am pretty nervous and any advice would be good. Any general advice re routines, setting up the classroom, induction, the EYFS curriculum, etc would be good. Thanks to all who can help!

Hi Hope I've posted this in the right place as I've not started a new topic before. I've come home today feeling very discouraged because children in our nursery don't seem to show much care or respect for nursery toys or equipment - even new items that we've only recently bought. I don't know if this is a general issue with children (as most seem to have so many toys at home) or whether there is more we could do to improve the situation. We do spend time changing the nursery environment regularly and rotating toys. Do other people have similar problems? Or has anyone got any helpful ideas?
