Environmental Display Ideas
by Guest- 7 replies

Hi, I need to put up a display board on environmental issues and was looking for any inspirational ideas. I have a class of 30 nursery children and was thinking along the lines of reducing carbon footprints and maybe getting the children to do footprints for me. Another thought was to do a recycling display. Does anyone have any suggestions of what they have done in the past. Thanks Lorraine

What a day!!! Had an incident today concerning 2 children....the little girl had been sitting at the mark making table concentrating on her drawing when a little boy came along & without any provoking bit the little girl on her arm. I have already been on here asking for advice on this boy (about his autism) & it's not been getting any better. I had to call his Mum to come and collect him because this really was a bad bite.....even when I removed him from the situation he threw the selotape dispenser at me. Mum came to collect him, at this point he was on the computer then went outside.....mum followed him then the next minute she marched him in telling hi…

Sick Children
by Guest- 11 replies

We have updated our policies to now say that children may not return to pre-school until 48 hours have elapsed from the last attack of sickness or diahrea (never could spell that word!). We have obviously obtained this information from somewhere. but for the life of us we can not find what we have done with the piece of paper. Is anyone else familair with this new legislation (it also says that children with conjunctivitis can not be excluded at all) or have we made it up!!!! I'm sure it must be somewhere, we have just had ofsted in and they didn't comment on it.

Hi all just wanted to pcik your brains as mine is like a tin of mushy peas at the moment We are holding a coffee morning for our Nursery parents next week and wondered if you have any lovely ideas that could add to make it more social and informal. I have done a powerpoint with key things to discuss and hopefully have injected some humour into that. We intend to have some music on in the background, but would welcome anymore tried and tested suggestions thanks

Colours For Icing
by Guest- 6 replies

One of our mums is coming in this week to bake biscuits with the children and has asked me about what colourings she can use in the icing. She is very keen to do the icing bit as she has bought a squeezy icing kit thing specially (not the pre-filled kind). Do you have any suggestions for what we could use to colour the icing. I thought Ribena might make the icing quite red, and maybe chocolate powder for brown but what else??? The idea is to make clown faces (part of the circus theme the children are actively engaged in at the moment!)
