Hi All Am I dreaming or did I read somewhere on this wonderful forum about a font style that was called 'something cat' or 'cat something!' I am sure I read it here somewhere and then googled the title and was able to download it free. I have done several searches on here to no avail so thought I would pop in and pick your brains. I have come to type out some labels for pre-school and haven't got this font style on my new PC Many thanks in advance

Childs Level Of Development
by Guest- 8 replies

Does anyone have a form/sheet/booklet that they ask parents to complete prior to the child starting pre-school. Having just been ofsted'ed we need to find out more about the child to work on as a base line assessment. We already ask name of mum, dad, what pets, brothers, sisters, whether they need help with toilet, if they need trainer cup etc. She wants us to find out more about the development level, i.e. can they count, what colours do they know, what things do they like to do, favourite places to visit. A space to draw a picture of themselves. If anyone can help I would be grateful.

[font="Comic Sans MS"]Need to run this past you all!... we went out today to visit a "French market" in our little town, the children all have on our hi viz jackets and HOLD the walking rope. We have lots of comments about this method of keeping the children safe ( not all good comments as i have posted in the past!) As we all where viewing the stalls a lady pops up and says "can i just take a photo of them please as they all look so cute" I replied "sorry but with out indvidual parental consent i can not give you permission to take any photos of the children" & we moved on. The lady carried on behind us and tried to take a photo but a quick thinking member of staff…

Is anyone using Letters and Sounds in their pre-school? I've been using some of the later aspects with 3 children who will be starting school after Christmas, but we are having difficulty finding time to do any of the activities with the rest of the group. Has anyone had any training on this yet? Anita

hi all, I have just taken over managing an early years setting and want to develop the creative workshop. I have got great staff but I have been trying to explain to them about chilren's creativity and how cut outs and adults drawn pictures don't help children develop their own creativity. Ii don't know if I am not explaining it clearly but they don't seem to agree or understand. Has anyone got any liturature I could share with them and how does your creative work shop work? Thanks.

Help Needed!
by Guest- 1 reply

I was asked today if I knew of a company that would design specialist outside play equipment for a child with special needs. The family has received a grant to landscape their garden and add equipment, surfaces etc but they are finding it hard to source someone to do it. If it were just a design company that would be ok as a landscaping contractor could then work from their brief.... any help gratefully received.

We moved in September from our own mobile to renting space in a new Children's centre satellite building. There is along history that I won't go into but we are finding that the Management Committee keep moving the goalposts and we are getting really disheartened. We are going thru PLA accreditation and feel our service is being compromised by the rules being set... The display boards provided for us to use are all less than 1m square and in places that are not particularly accessible to parents etc to see their childrne's work. We are not allowed to have a sign on the fence with our name on to show people where to come. (Bearing in mind we are on a school site and…

Does anyone have any help or advice on how I can set up a simple but effectibve way og tracking children's progresss through the early stages/steps of foundation stage whilst some of the children are stilll operating in the Birth to three framework. This is a childrens centre/daycare setting so it needs to effective but not too labour intensive. I've been up since 5am. trying to juggle around with the format and don't feel I'm getting there. I would really appreciate some help, or if someone has done something similar would love to see how you manage it. Thanks in advance. Sunshine
