Chimps Tea Party!
by Guest- 5 replies

Does anybody have any strategies we can use to stop our lunchtimes degenerating into a chimps tea party? Some of the children who stay with us for lunch have awful table manners. Yesterday one was throwing food and the others were talking with their mouths full and shouting at one another. I am going to use small group time to talk about how we should behave but wondered if there was anything else we could do? Thanks Linda

Well, I really do, I am sat at home after going to my son's school assembly, thinking I have an interview at 2 pm at a setting I would love to work....I check my phone (on silent all morning because of assembly) and there is a message from the owner of the setting saying where am I? Is it just me or what... I had a letter inviting me to the interview saying "I would like to invite you for an interview on Thursday 1st March, 2007." Instantly I thought - What time? and on the next page the interview details were stated, "Interview consists of 2.00 pm 10 imnute presentation 2.30 pm 30 minute activity with 8 preschool children 3.00pm interview questions. So am I …

I have just finished making our walking rope this was a great task as i hate to even replace a button let alone create 24 handles on the rope! We have given it a test run and it was great. Our playgroup is in the middle of a small town so walking the children to grassey areas etc was hard work. We would find that as we walked though town people wouldn't see us and cut through the middle of us as they came out from shops etc. Now every one can see us and have no choice but to stay in the door way and let us pass instead of pushing through. I was worried that the children would not like it but so far it has gone down very well. It was so much safer this way as the child…

Hi all Does anyone have any idea how much their setting gets charged to do an annual check on electrical items and to place the relevant safety sticker on each item? We dont have too many electrical items, but our landlord is asking their electrican to invoice us directly and I would like to have a ball park figure beforehand. I think you usually get charged a set fee per item. Many thanks for any help

I just wanted to draw everyone's attention to this weeks nursery world and an article tittled 'National pay sought for nursery nurses'. I know many nursery nurses are, or have been effected by single status and that most of us will be loosing out in some way. Please visit http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/singlestatus (don't know how to do a link sorry) and sign the petition that is asking the primeminster to implement a national pay structure for nursery nurses and T.A 's which takes into account experience, qualifications, abilty etc I have just visited the site and there are only 159 signatures I know there are many more nursery nurses and T.A's out there who de…
