The Early Years Foundation Stage

Hi to anyone who may actually read this! (This is the first time I've actually attempted to use the forums!) I have heard that changes are taking place in the Foundation Stage with the amalgamation of Birth to Three Matters but don't know what these changes entail. At present I use the Curriculum Guidance for my planning and assessments. Has this changed at all and if so, have the changes come into effect yet? If anyone can help or point me in the right direction, I'd be really grateful. Thanks!!

At the beginning of erery term when we come back we always find several children who are infested!! searching for more info on this found the following site which you may find useful nittygritty. if you follow the links on the page there is a letter which parents can give to Gps and practice nurses to get a nitfree comb on prescription. may be useful to give out details. Also found this, hintsandthings which has some unusual ideas! and some rather alarming ones.... Inge

Hello! Not sure if this is in the right place (how loong have I been here?!) but was wondering if someone could help me (which I'm sure you can!). I have been hearing about the Rose Report and just wondered what it was and what it was about? I have been out of work for so long that my professional brain is drying up! I gather it's quite an important report, and am a little ashamed to admit that I don't know anything about it . Thanks!

I'm proper sad Our SEN advisor is moving on to greater things, she has been great support to us through really troubled & stressed times at our setting. When she first arrived new in the post we had six children with special needs, what a start for her! we have laughed about it beeing a hetic start to her work! She has supported our setting, advised really well, listened to our moans, groans and problems. She will be missed greatly by us all. So well done to her for seeing us through it all and we really hope all goes well in her new training . There is a good bit to this story!! tonight she is having a party!! and i'm going!!

Hi We are hoping to put large gates outside our pre-school so that we can use the area for outside provision. It is a rented hall so we can't make too many changes but the area is concrete as it is a large driveway. Obviously we can't go digging it up to change the surface but wondered what other people did. We thought about a large carpet out there, some mats etc. Any ideas? Thanks Laura

Has anyone any experience on running a parents and tots session? Registration, ratios etc. I am thinking of opening one in our school hall. I have recently been visiting a few sessions in the area talking to parents about our nursery, explaining about funding and generally promoting the place. We are an independent 3 to 18 school and I think this may be a way of showing parents the nursery whilst on site for mums and tots. What do you think?

Hello all We have just purchased a new Computerised Nursery Management Package which we are about to start using. I was just wondered if anyone else has one of these and how they find them and whether it does save time on all the paperwork! Many Thanks

Hi At school we have fabric covered boards that we can stick velcro backed things too. My mum wants one for her pre-school to record who's had snack. I have hunted on the web for them but i can't find them anywhere. Does anyone know where I can get one from please? I'm not back in school until the end of next week. We also had some really great blue fabric for velcro as well that came in metre lengths. Also hunted for that too but no luck. Does any one have any other ideas for fabric that velcro sticks well too??? Thanks Laura
