Cooked Lunches - Menu Ideas
by Guest- 2 replies

One of the team has taken on the role of developing a bank of menu ideas for the children's hot lunches. At present we provide the children with a main course and a dessert at lunch time, but we need to develop our menus further. Has anyone got any tried and tested recipes, for both main course and pudding?

Catchy Title Needed

Have just had a wonderful day, transforming our craft /messy area into an under the sea theme, along with large fishing net hanging from ceiling, crepe paper streamers, children decorating fish etc -(not bad for a church hall eh? althought the Minister hasn't seen it yet?!? just want a catchy title to welcome /invite children/parents into this area to enjoy the art and craft and messy play activities and to look at their displays - any ideas??? All I can think of is 'under the sea' - but that doesn't really entice people to come and have a look . . . waiting with anticipation . .

Aims And Objectives
by Guest- 1 reply

Please can you give me some help with writing the nursery's Aims and Objectives? Where do you start, but on the other hand, where do you stop yourself? Should you make sure that you have an aim for for each of the National Standards? How can you get parents involved? I'm really keen to get started on this, and am sure that it will be fine once I begin, but at the moment it looks like a daunting task. I would really appreciate some guidance, Thanks loads, Shelley

The Early Years Foundation Stage

Hi, I've just become a member of the Forum. Has anyone read the new Early Yers Foundation Stage Draft Consultation Document? I read with interest the section on 'Requirements for qualifications etc..' I was N.N.E.B. trained some 12 years ago and I am now studying for the Early Years Foundation Degree. Managing a school nursery class I was interested to read in the new document that from Sept. 2008 a qualified teacher will need to be in place within nurseries such as mine. This will have a huge impact on schools to supply this level of staffing let alone the knock on effect it will have to experienced Early Years Practitioners such as myself. Does anyone else have a view …

Im in the middle of writing my Record of Transfer Reports for my keyworker children to go to school, after these are done, I doubt I will be observing and recording information on these children. I think I should give all records to the parents, but when is the question, should I give them when they sign their Record of Transfers of wait until the end of term. Any advice please

Just wondering if any of you have bought an aqua play system for your outside area ( YPO ) type. I remember using one about 10 years ago and it didnt fit together very well. I dont want to spend the money if its going to be a waste. Does anybody have one and do they leak all over? Thanks Jax

Nursery Carpet/large Group Times
by Guest- 3 replies
- 1.3k views
Hi everyone, In large school nurseries (50 plus) does anyone have regular large group sessions (rather than splitting up) for how long and for what activities? I'm going to visit the nursery where I'll be doing supply soon and know that their reception classes can have circle, storytime and singing with over forty children (plenty of staff supporting). I know that I'll find out about nursery soon but wonder what is normal in your large settings. Thanks for any replies Ade
