I saw them at a teching exhibition in manchester last year, but forgot to get the name of the company that sold them! I've found a couple on american websites, but none in the uk! Help!

Recently I become responsible person for planning and planning board. I like this part of job, but I never had to do planning board myself. I want to make it to catch parents eyes because some off them just come and collect child and they not very interesting in our plans and things we do with children. Rather than putting already done border I prefer put up children's work, But I am a bit stuck for ideas. Can anybody help, PLEASE!

Just wondered what others think about pre-schools having children in uniform? On the one hand the idea almost horrified me, the thought of tiny children running round in uniform seemed ridiculous and over the top but then I thought it was just the word 'uniform' that resulted in my thoughts. Terms such as 'children dressed the same' don't result in me thinking along those lines. I have decided to ask as a result of an article I was reading about the diverse range of pre school settings in which it said. "If parents value their three year olds in uniform such settings should be available" but there was almost an element of negativity in the statement. After con…

We were told by our PLA rep that the person bringing and collecting the child should sign them in/out. We have a sheet where they write the childs name the time and then put their signiature. But, I read recently (and I cant remember where) that this wont be suitable for people who cant write, read, and it could be a confidentiality issue. We already do a register and note in it the time of late arrivals and early departures. Do we really need both? I'd welcome your thoughts.

HI guys this is the first time i have posted and this site is fantatstic. I joined a pre-school last september as supervisor and love my job and we have just had a fantastic ofsted which i am really proud of. How ever i have one member of staff who likes to have a moan in everyone's ears about decisions i or the committee make and anything else and it creates an atmosphere. I have had a word with her once yet it is still continuing and as the deputy she should be supporting me. It has got to the stage now that another member of staff has resigned and although she gave another reason i have now been told it is because of this particular person. has anybody got any advice…

I Have had a terrible day settling new children, again - there must be a better way!!! Does anyone else experience parents doing a runner? I have parents that try to drop there children through the door and run off on their first day. I have parents who I have spoken to first thing in the morning and say to them, "You may be able to step out at 9.30 and leave your children for half an hour", who then run out the door at 9.30 with out saying good bye to me or the child leaving the child in tears. I have parents that I ask to step out of the room for 5 mins that don't come back for 2 hours. I hate settling. I need help, what am I doing wrong??? How do you all go about…

I just thought I would let you know what happened yesterday. I am sure we all know that in spite of our best efforts, accidents occur in settings. However I am very surprised at what occured. The children were having lunch when a child suddenly announce "xxx's cut me and I am bleeding" and sure enough there was a small cut on her arm and yes it was bleeding. The cause of the cut was a crisp held by another child and was not a deliberate act by that child. I really didnt know crisps were so lethal!!!! Of course it wasn't a major injury but it was upsetting for the child and was quite sore. (probably the salt!) Wonder what else could be lurking in lunch…

Multilink

I've been searching for a good website to buy Multilink but can only find sets of the cubes. I am sure that there are really good sets of cards and activities for Multilink - or is my memory just deteriorating? I recall children selecting cards with fun things to make - robots, dogs etc, and copying the pictures. And some maths games as well. Can anyone help my memory out here? Preferably with links so I can see what is available. I managed to track down a company in the USA that sells Mobilo recently - we love Mobilo. I also found Polydron on ebay - we love that too, although it is more challenging to fit together. Now I really want Multilink. Also, any othe…
