At the moment i have my NVQ3 in early years and wondered if anyone could shed some light on courses. I have looked into OU Early Years practitioners certificate but have missed the date this year. Also had some info on Foundation degree but i would need to have a day off to do this!! I have thought of the NVQ 4 but it means travelling miles to do it. Please help . A confused Skippy

This is my first time posting a message. This is and excellent source of information and advice, which is exactly what I need right now. Can anyone give advice regarding a member of staffs behaviour at the pre-school I work at. Since becoming employed in September last year within a month she breached confidentiality, resulting with an extremely upset parent. She uses bullying tactics to get her own way. Storms out of the room if we do not agree with all her ideas, we take on the good ideas and tell her so. I recieved a letter this week through my door which made me feel physically sick and bewildered I joined up to the APEL course last year. I was told that in order to be able to continue with the job I have been doing for the last 16 years I should update my DPP qualification. Well I was asked to keep you all posted on how the NNI Nursery was coming along and how I am getting planning together as part of my job description is to organise and oversee the planning curriculum for the whole nursery. The children will be from 6 weeks to 5 years!!
