I've got such a headache! Got a call allegedly from someone at the high court telling me my business is just about to have writ served against me for £4K overdue tax and that if I don't dispute it bailiffs will be at my door today and I'll end up paying much more. Of course the debt had to be paid now and he couldn't wait five minutes for me to phone HMRC to check. After half an hour on the phone and me being very nearly tempted to cave. I told him I wasn't comfortable doing this over the phone. I called HMRC who said this happens all the time and that all was fine. I'm literally shaking. Why is it that these people think it is ok to scam you out of your hard earned money…

I have had a lady ask me about how i would handle a 3 year old boy wanting to be a girl. (expressing this through thought and actions) I have to say he is not in my setting and she is a trustee. I have answered to the best of my ability...but anyone have any experience of this. (there was a thread but can't find it!!)

Hi I am trying to change our nursery to be more environmentally friendly. Would like to change purchases such as wipes, tissues and toilet rolls etc to be more environmentally friendly. However these products cost more and in the current financial climate this is a challenge. Has anyone made the change and are there any suppliers or products you can recommend? Thanks Sally

Looking for some advice - I have just transferred to a new nursery (2-5 years) and the toilets are not in the main building (children walk through a courtyard to another building in the school). Currently one member of staff accompanies children each time, they have no more than 4 children (4 toilets) or only 1 child if changing a nappy, myself and my deputy complete random spot checks, all staff are enhanced DBS checked and on the update service, and we have walkie talkies (staff member takes one and the other is kept with management). The toilets have obviously been inspected by Ofsted before the setting opened and there were no issues on the last 2 inspections. I have …

If a member of staff has their own child attending nursery, can this member of staff still look after their full ratio of children? e.g A member of staff looking after 2 year olds must be in ratio 1:4 (can it still be 1:4 if one of the children is theirs?) Someone told me that if their own child is at the nursery they only count as half a member of staff but I can’t find any evidence to back this up. Any ideas?
