we have a science week coming up in a couple of weeks. nursery (me!) and reception are working together for the day. has anyone got any ideas for some adult focused activities we could do? we want the children to choose from what's on offer, with all children doing one adult activity in each classroom. and any ideas for activities they can choose from when not with adult would be gratefully received!! :1b

We have a two and a half year old in our setting who has the most excessive dribble that I have ever seen. He has to have his vest, t shirt and jumper changed during our morning sessions. His brother also tended to dribble when we had him. What causes some children to dribble to this extent and can We do anything to try and stop it? It really is most off putting as resources and people also get dribbled on!! Only a matter of time until the other children start to comment on it as well. Any advice welcomed.

The children have come up with: A birthday cake/candles/balloons/bouncy castle/flags/presents ... I thought about face painting - any more ideas gratefully received!

Learning spaces - names?

We've recently had an extension that has given us extra space to provide small group activities for the children targeting different targets and needs. However, we would like to name these spaces but have run out of ideas, can suggestions? A sensory room? A SENCO's room for one to one group work? (Needs to be easy enough to say for the SEN children) A learning classroom preparing transitions?

In our setting we have a computer tower, a screen, keyboard and mouse. The children are able to access educational games on this. I have become aware that since the introduction of touch screen and tablets that this is now quite archaic!! I have asked our committee if we can purchase a couple of tablets for the children to use. One part of me feels that some children probably have to much access to these at home and do we really need to provide them in our setting? But what about the families that might not have them? Hi, Can anyone share any new action songs and activity games which can be planned for 2.5 - 4years. I am finding that the staff are singing the same old songs and playing games such as 'bug in the rug' 'trains on the track'. It was fine at the beginning as it was new to the children but now they are getting bored. I have looked online and you tube. But I have not found anything Ideas welcome xx Thanks

We have a wonderful resource a "Tower zig zag click clack) which I'm sure many of you have got, but, we can't use ours to it's full potential as the click clack cars have long disappeared and the tower has long been collecting dust. I have searched lots of websites but cannot find where to buy the indiviudal cars/carriages etc, has anyone got any idea where I can buy these from? Any help would be appreicated.
