We are currently making good our poor old kitchen. We would like to put in a double wash basin which would enable us to have one sink for food prep and one for handwashing....do we need another sink for craft or can we double up the hand washing basin as a craft one too? We really don't have space/funds/water pressure for more than two sinks so I'm worried. Thank you Spiral :-)

Hello, I have been off work for a year whilst i took maternity leave and i am set to go back to work in a little over a week. Today i had a meeting with the nursery owner and nursery manager to discuss my return and in this meeting i learnt the following: * The pre-school room that i am returning too (and had worked in prior to maternity leave) is an absolute shambles!. when i went on maternity leave they promoted a member of staff to room leader, but apparantly this member of staff can 'talk the talk, but not walk the walk' and all things fell behind especially childrens learning journals. The two staff in the room outright lied to the manager and said they were …

Hi All, Hope you are all enjoying this beautiful sunshine and not suffering too much! Anyway, I have been having issues with one of our children who keeps hitting out at other children. This is generally over sharing but can often be totally unprovoked. It appears to be getting worse and I have our SENCO and his keyperson on board trying to manage this behaviour. Long story short, today he has not had a good session at all and when speaking to him, he tells me his mum has said that if he gets hit by another child he is to hit back! This shocked me as the parent has always told me that she tells him the complete opposite in fact. Has anyone else had to de…

Hi all, Im looking for advice from people that have nurseries on school sites. Can you tell me how you came across these sites? Did you approach schools with a proposal or did the school advertise for interested parties? Im looking for a nursery site and as Im particularly interested in after school and holiday care I am investigating school sites but dont know where to start! Thanks!

Just wondered how everyone is coping with this heat B) Morning sessions are fine as we freeflow 'til about 11am and it's been lovely to be out. They all have sunhats etc.But in the afternoon it's just far too hot. . We have some shady bits but it's impossible to make them stay in it and keeping them inside just makes them stir crazy!! I would love to know how everyone else is managing! This time last year I just wore waterproofs

Hello I found today that a few of our local childminders have been and still are telling the parents of the child they mind that they can not do any longer than a 3 hour session with Pre school. When I questioned one of the childminders she explained that they need to make money and only having children after sch does not pay enough so the answer is they pay for a full day and ALLOW the children to attend Pre School for 3 hours.... This doesn't seem right to me....am I missing something?
