Hi all I once received a booklet about a project run by a women who runs an organisation which promotes healthy eating along with supporting 'fussy eaters' etc. I cannot for the life of me remember what it is called. There was quite a few activity ideas and example of ways to get children to try different foods. Does anyone know what it might be? I need it to pass on to a parent. thank you all in advance

Hi! Just wondered if anyone has any recent info on Impetigo? I have read the forum post from 2005. We have 1 child who has definitely had it and been treated at the end of last week, one who was off ill ( ear infection) all last week and has come back with what looks like Impetigo (having now seen it once!) but Mum seems disinterested ( and we're not medical professionals and can only suggest they get it checked), and one today who may possibly have it. Not all attend the same session. We have the HPA advice which has been followed wiht the confirmed case but are not sure how many cases constitutes ' an outbreak' and can find little advice on whether we need to clea…

I am a childminder and like to use observations sheets to record information and put a picture to go with the observation. Does anyone else use these? Does anyone have an up to date sheet in line with the new EYFS? thank you

Hi all just thinking about world book day and wondered what everyone would be doing for a nursery setting? Also how do people feel about children coming as a superhero e.g. batman/spiderman etc It seems inevitable that a great deal of children come in these costumes a) because they love the character and B) it is very convenient for the parent/s? Although there is a tenuous link to reading material - comics - it is after all book day. Just wondered if anyone has any feelings about this?

As the topic suggests, I currently have a child started last week. Mum has put off sending her to school until she is 5 so has chosen to put her into pre-school with us. Trouble is, she won't leave her child. I asked her this afternoon if she was going to leave her child and she just says "no i'm going to stay until she gets used to it" Now I have seen no evidence to suggest that this child will have any trouble seperating from Mum. I just think if I don't nip this in the bud early, it will be even harder to get her to leave. So my question to you all really is how do you deal with parents that won't leave. Any advice greatly appreciated TIA

I don't know if anyone else has seen it but we saw it at a cluster meeting once and I've been trying to find it ever since. It's a video showing different animals at a nursery in fields etc and shows what they are best at (e.g a frog excells in jumping) but because they are so good at individual things they are stopped from doing them in order to get better at other subjects - not sure if that makes any sense?????
