Hello, We are new to Tapestry, and we are currently trying to figure out how to ensure we are meeting all the criteria. So for example we have linked CL, Understanding: Understands complex sentences 22-36 months. If i carry out another observation on this particular child, how can i make sure i am not linking it to the same area again. Thanks in advance.

Woops - title too long, important READING!! https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/early-years-pupil-premium-and-funding-for-2-year-olds Less consultation, more policy document so i would give it a good read. It will be part of future Ofsted inspections and demonstrating how effective you are using the funding to improve outcomes will be crucial for leadership. Cx

HI Just wondered if anyone can recommend anything? Been told by my teacher that I need to have more resources but money is tight. She recommended getting parents to read a book in home language and record...how? to then play back at setting. I only have a cd player. Parents havent got equipment and neither have we for this (yet!) Any recommendations? Looking at PENpal (think there is a cheaper equivalent) but still might be too much at £60 for my committee. Books in English and other language are about £10..could share with home? What activities do you do? We are modelling, short sentences, key words, commenting, sharing books, pausing (not questioning), signing, encour…

Hello , I am looking to support the practitioners in our baby room with providing activities for babies with English as an Additional Language. Has anybody got any ideas and want to share what they do with their babies. Currently we are looking at doing atleast 1 EAL observation a month on all EAL children within our setting, however, the practitioners in the baby room are struggling, how do you think they could get this one observation. Also.....how does everyone support children with EAL in their settings? We do a number of things but I feel we could do so much more. We care for children from babies to pre-school children. Thank you Sally
