Hi All Just been catching up on the forum and reading all the comments regarding, the EYFS consultation document. I think it is vital that as many people as possible make their views known. However some colleagues will find the process too time consuming. Now this may be a crazy idea but, I am wondering if we someone out there, who has completed their responses, could attach them to the FSF so that others could use them as a template? Colleagues could then use this document to cut and paste. Some of my colleagues, both past and present have excellent comments to make, but find writing them down challenging. Do you think this might help people to h…

Help Needed On 6 Area's Of Learning
by Guest- 5 replies

Hi All, I (as a committee member) I am trying to help organise our brand new buildling and particularly our store rooms and shed. I think it might be usefull to put a lot of equipment into the 6 area's of learning (I know the EYFS looks likely to change but we need to do this now). What I would like to know is there anywhere a fairly comprehensive list that will say what resouce fits what area (I do know there is lots of cross over). If I have to go through my book for each item its going to take me forever. Any help much appreciated.

Ok, so I think I might just be a little dense here... it's been a long day and I'm exhausted... I've been going over my planning sheets for my upcoming EYPS summer placement (starting tomorrow) and there's a section with the headings, Y, B, G and ELG... I have no idea what they stand for but I have an inkling that EG is Early Learning Goal... I have noted down some of the statements from the EYFS to put into these sections but can't seem to figure it out... I haven't looked at it in almost a year! Am I just being really silly or can someone help? Thank you

just wondering if anyone has a spare EYFS pack,,, pleassssssse when i closed my preschool i, very stupidly, got rid of a lot of paper work and i think my pack must of gone with it all !! Two years down the line i could do with one, for interviews etc. I do use the internet and have downloaded one, just dont fancy printing it all off. Its so much easier to have a copy in front of you when trying to do presentations etc. I am using a friends at the moment, she needs it back for planning, might pretend i've left the country I have noticed that they are selling on Ebay, but out of principal im not buying,i would however, pay postage if there is a kind sole ou…

Hi all... I was wondering if anyone would be able to tell me how I could reference the EYFS review... So far I've got: Tickell, C. (2011) The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Review: Report on Evidence. But then I'm stuck as I don't know who it was published by... If it was the Govt. should I put DfE instead of putting Tickell? Thanks guys, you really are a lifesaver and I am so glad I finally sprung for the membership fee!!

Referencing Eyfs

I know that I should have this imprinted on my mind but I feel like I always get it wrong and this is my dissertation! How would you reference the EYFS using the Harvard Referencing style? I always put GREAT BRITAIN. (2007) The Early Years Foundation Stage: Setting the Standards for Learning, Development and Care for Children from Birth to Five. Nottingham: DfES but I don't think the GREAT BRITAIN bit as the author is right... would you just put DfES there as well as in the publisher part?

A new document entitled "Children's Experiences of the EYFS" is available here "This project aimed to gather examples of children’s perspectives on their experiences in a range of early years settings, and to consider what these perspectives tell us about the effectiveness of the EYFS.... In this research, particular consideration was given to play-based learning, outdoor provision and children's participation, linked to the six Areas of Learning in the EYFS1. The findings contribute to an independent review of the EYFS, led by Dame Clare Tickell from September 2010."
