Just want to know your thoughts we have phased these in this term, and planning to use them to cover EYFS next term do you think they are ok? We tick the appropriate coloured box when they have achieved the outcome and use the spaces next to and below to write the observations Personal_Social_and_Emotional_Development.doc

Thought I would share some of our medium and short term planning ideas that we were shown at our course.. Our county, Lincolnshire, have suggested we plan using the 'zones'. The first one is a medium term plan with a column to put the Development Matters area then space to put adult led activities and how we enhance the area through observations. They suggest putting our first ideas in black and then adding other activities from our observations in other colours. The second sheet is what we are going to use weekly as we observe the children. As we observe the children and take notes on stickers for their files, any interesting things can be written on the sheet f…

extra clarification re EYFS will be available from 19th May, PNS don't think practitoners will need to get a NEW copy of the pack as the clarification sheet which should be available to download will be all you need, apparently. Assume its on the standards site if not on EYFS site. Can't recall as our newsletter is on my desk at work. Cx

Does anyone have any ideas as to how (or if) they are going to do medium term plans for EYFS. I have a new head starting in Sept and he wants our half term plans at the end of the first week. I have already said i dont plan for a half term, but do need to do something to show coverage. A the moment i have been highlighting objects when i cover them, but i often forget to do it and so it hasnt been particularly successful. I would be grateful for any ideas that are manageable and have worked well for people sunbeam

Hello out there! I'm new to this forum thing. Have just had a 'paperwork' day-trying to catch my tail as I'm hugely behind on paperwork. Found a leaflet about this forum and decided to investigate. I work as a Registered Childminder so I'm hopeful this will be a great resource to me and I'll get some tips, advice and new friends. Love my job (on a good day), never thought I'd work with children, seem to be in big demand so must be doing something right but really struggling with fitting 'business' into my working day. By the end of each day I'm so tired(got 3 girls of my own aged 4,9&11)the chance of doing any planning is remote. Thats the one area I really s…

Hi All, I am in the middle of writing tons of reports for children in the FS who are leaving nursery to go to 'BIG' school! I use the 6 areas of the FS stage to write what children can do. However, I have a few children who are still using Birth to Three leaving for various reasons, does anyone have a report format from BT3 that they use? Thanks

Eyfs Help Needed!
by Guest- 11 replies

Hi, as far as I can tell Birmingham haven't offered any EYFS training, if they have they certainly kept it well hidden! As a result I'm starting to panic a bit. I've got the EYFS pack and read it, and I'm sure I need to change my planning as a result (I'm Reception and we don't have a nursery). My Head says not to change anything I'm doing, but I know that my class is much too adult led, and not nearly enough CI, plus topics are very adult directed. Does anyone have any examples of planning formats they could share with me, especially ones recommended by other LEA's that I could share with my Head? Any help would be gratefully received..... Thanks
