Hi there, Has anyone invented a new planning format that is in line with the new Early years document? I was about to begin making one for my reception/ foundation stage planning and then thought it was a bit silly if someone on here has one already done??? Thank you so much in anticipation

Medication In Eyfs

I hope I've put this in the right place! I was just wondering what other day nurseries do with regard to medication, and if they plan to change with the new EYFS. Basically, we currently do the usual with medication e.g. fill in a medication form before any medication is given, be it prescribed or calpol etc. We do give calpol if children are teething / have cold etc but are genrally ok to be at nursery. We also, on occasions phone parents if a child's temp rises / shows signs of distress due to teething etc during the day. If we do this, we never say "Shall we give calpol?" We always say "Is there anything you would like us to do?" so it isn't our discision. …

Practitioner Qualifications For F1
by Guest- 3 replies

Hello, I was wondering if anyone can provide me with some information. I've just found out today that in September I will have 31 children in my class. I will have an FSU where I am the only teacher with 31 reception (F2) children and 12 pre-schoolers(F1). I'll have two TA's (one level 3 and one unqualified) Is this ok? Do the LEA need to provide an additional teacher for F2 because we have gone over 30 and also it is now a requirement for F1 to have a qualified teacher? My head teacher and myself would be extremely grateful if anyone could shed some light on this or can point us in the right direction to find out more information. Many thanks Boogie …

Aspects In New Eyfs - Help Please
by Guest- 3 replies

Hi All, As I am still to go on the planning course, I want to know if you still as before choose various aspect out of the areas of learning each half term. I ask this with a query, as we have ditched our "theme" planning, and this week, children are creating vast imaginative ideas in all areas, however our focused aspect for CD does not include imagination. I feel that it would benefit us in our planning for next week to have a focused activity in respect of "imagination" so we can offer resources to extend their own play ? Have a lost sight of what I am supposed to be doing ???? Dot

Hi Just to let you know I've just downloaded a resource from Primary Plan which on first glance looks really good and will save hours of work - it's linked to the EYFS and sets out LTP for continuous provision for most play areas - I haven't read it properly yet and it costs £4.50 - think it's worth a look though! I've also done a grid thing for my LTP - used the back of the first card setting out the themes/committments and a rough overview of celebrations to be covered over the year, and another sheet listing the areas of Learning and Development for my unit - let me know if you'd like me to put it in the resources section? Think I'm finally starting to get my head r…

Hi All Second post today, was great to have such a welcome !! It has also been great to see how wonderfully everyone replies to all of our silly questions !!!!! Here goes mine !! In the old EYFS we were always told we had to depict 2 ss to be our focused activity out of each area of learning per week - so one ss from the peach area and one ss from the blue. When Birth to Three came out we ensured the ss was adapted to cover birth to three. Some children are at the green in some areas of their learning we obviously need to plan activities to move them on also. So here goes with the question how many "development matters" intentions should we have o…
