Hi, can I just get some opinions on the area of Continuous provision. Will we need to put them all into the 6 areas of learning. I work with the under threes and we currrently have them based on the 0-3 framework. Its going to be a big job if I have to change them! What do others think??

According to the EYFS framework we should be assessing children against the 13 assessment scales yet the cards still refer to the stepping stones from the Profile. Does anyone know which we should be assessing on???? or do they expect us to do both

Statutory document states - 'Providers must meet the requirements for adult:child ratios set out in Appendix 2. During breaks, or at times when teachers are undertaking preparation, planning and assessment and are out of the classroom/not interacting directly with the children, the ratios must be adjusted accordingly.' In the Appendix these changes are only stated for Independent schools and for children aged three and over in any registered early years provision. Can anyone clarify this for me?

Eyfs Training

LIke everyone else I have been searching the web and came across a great website that is really supporting us working with the under fives and trying to get our heads around the EYFS. You can buy your training from the website and do not need to wait for the LA's to get round to putting on training, when they get round to it!! I bought 1 guide to see what they were like and then went back and bought some more, they were really useful and answered a lot of my questions. I thought they were really resonable to buy and much cheaper if you bought the lot together. I told my manager about it and she has decided to buy the training courses so that we can go through them tog…

What is the new ratio in reception and do all keyworkers need to have an NVQ3? What about TA's can they be Keyworkers responsible for keeping records etc for eg 6 children? I'm confused how this will effect us with 4 Reception classes and 4 TA's in our Infant school. Can anyone help me answer these questions?

Eyfs & Operational Plan
by Guest- 15 replies

This next half term we will be updating some of our Policies and Procedures and following Debs post yesterday re: having the Operational Plan under the headings of the 5 Outcomes - I was just wondering how this all fits in with the new EYFS. What I don't want to do is sort it all out under a new format if it is likely to have to change with the introduction of the EYFS. Can anyone tell me where it mentions the Operational plan in the EYFS pack? Does it mention it? I can't find it - but that could be me looking in the wrong place. Any tips?
