Hey everyone, Just in the process of reinventing our admissions form as some parts seem a bit confusing and to include the new requirements of the EYFS. Just wondering if anyone may have changed theres yet and are kind enough to show? Please!!! Also does anyone know what this means 'the name and address of every parent and carer who is known to the provider' Do people interpret this as we need the name and address of all people that may collect the child or just the parents??? Thanks all suggestions welcome Abbey

Training Part One

Had to get on here quickly - sooooooo maaaaaad! No personal reflection on the 'pedagogues' delivering the training but . . . Attended first of three EYFS training courses today (Cheshire) what a waste of time and money! Felt like some unskilled, unqualified person who was just considering going into childcare/education and knew absolutely nothing about children, environments or play! Training was superficial, patronising and made me feel totally embarrassed to be in this field of work- is this how other professionals see us? At one point (as it started to snow) we were told to look out of the window all together, and then we could watch the presentation without needing…

Early Years Advisor Visit

Just to let you know we had our second visit and what an inspiration. she read between the lines concerning the head and lack of knowledge. I have decided no longer will I be typing all my plans out so they can be posted on the shared documents for all to see, after all the end of the day product ususally has things crossed out and things written on it so they never see the true planning. No more topics! No more medium term plans just an overview! No targets to be written as suggested by another Ks2/1advisor! I feel like a rebel hope I can stand my ground!!! I have also suggested she looks at this site as I told her how great and informative it is, telling her about the …

Hi we are currently running a foundation unit at my school with 1 teacher in the reception class (who is also the Foundation Stage Co-Ordinator) 2 full time NNEB (1 who teaches a full time group of 13 max. and the other who teaches a morning part time and an afternoon part time group) and 1 other NNEB who only works mornings. We work in a two room open plan unit. I'm a little confused about the ratios in the new early years documentation as nothing seems to fit with our setting. Can anyone clarify for me whether we will need a Nursery Teacher as well?

hello just wondered if any one could help me just come from a eyfs planning and assesment course. have decided to ditch topic planning and to move forward to planning with childs interests. wanted to do this by just planning for the next day a day at a time. ie plan for monday, see what happens on monday, and plan for tuesday from what happened ect. make sense? Does anyone else do this? could i have a peep? We would still have middle and long term plans to ensure total learning coverage thank you

This afternoon I went on the EYFS briefing......one question most people was asking about was the 'development records' to be used for this. At the moment in west sussex b - 3 seperate and 3+ 'west sussex development records'. We were told that one was being put together that the whole country would be using......probably as a pilot scheme!!!!whatever that means. I have been on the website....www.standards.dcsf.gov.uk/eyfs and printed off what I think will be the new profile for september 08. I will try to download on here for everyone to see..here goes! 5848_fs_scalebooklet_web.pdf
