Firstly, as part of my tutoring foray I have 10 minutes to do an icebreaker which is merely finding out where everyone works and have to give an overview of the EYFS. Now, in essence its simple but I've only got a few minutes, so how would you describe the EYFS? Secondly, do you know whee I can find worksheets in languages other than English?

so sfater a long meeting with some of my collegues and managing director i think we now have our heads around how we are goign to plan when we begin to intorduce the eyfs. however as we areonly just beginnig to look at thefull pack we are a little bit confused as to where the " themes and principle" fit in. my understanding of it is that the themes and principles underly everything that is done in the setting as is part of our ongoing good practice, so there is a theme on posititve relationships- paretns as partners this would always be done in the setting. however because these themse are written on sepreate cards some of my collegues are getting confused as they…

Hey everyone, Im new to the foundation stage forum, ive found all the topics very interesting and useful. I have a query to put to people, Im working in a nursery in staffordshire where we have researched the eyfs and I feel we have enough knowledge to start implementing the eyfs within the planning and profiles. However our advisor has told us not to even though we have researched it well. I was just wondering if any of you have started implementing any of the aspects relating to the eyfs. Replies would be greatly appreciated

My colleague has just pointed out that bullet point 3 on this page appears to require the children's key worker to be listed in the same place as children's hours of attendance etc. We don't currently have this info in the same place. Does anyone else read this differently?

Hi all ok I'm an early bird this Saturday morning but couldn't sleep... I have been asked to provide some INSET for our staff on the EYFS and wanted to pick your brains to see if anyone had any advice on how to do this. As we haven't had any training yet- just the briefing- I'd be grateful of any ideas on how to approach this. Has anyone delivered any INSET to their staff and if so can you share how you went about it please? many thanks apple

I am just starting my third year of being in charge of a room. I have an nvq3 qualification an assesor came in for a member of staff today and we were talking about level 4-- I said that I wasnt keen to do it as I didnt think I was capable of doing this level she said that by 2007 anyone in charge of a room must be level 4 qualified. Is this true? we are a private nursery/pre-prep schoolbut are still ofsteded and have the childcare vouchers. Feeling a little dispondent about it all as I had to work really hard for my nvq3 and had to complete it by 6 months. Help!!!
