Ofsted have today released an update to the Early Years Compliance Handbook: The document explains the processes and procedures Ofsted will follow if there is a complaint about a provision of if any aspect of the provision is thought to be 'non-compliant' (i.e. that they are not meeting the Statutory requirements). You can download the document here. There is also a link on the page to the summary of changes, this is really useful as you can go straight to the relevant pages and make sure you are up to date with everything!

Ofsted have today released a series of early years short films. They explain what is meant by 'teaching' and also explain what Early Years inspectors will look for and ask about when inspecting different kinds of settings. I thought they were very useful. Ofsted youtube clips

Hi, does anyone have a PDF copy of the Scottish Development statements they could send me, please? I'm not sure if they differ much from the English ones, but I'd really like to see them. My granddaughter is starting nursery next week and I'd like to look at their assessment criteria. Many thanks in advance.

Please see the attached. I think I may be being a big dense but what are the implications for a reception class in this document? Am a school governor and we've just been talking about PFA training.
