Firework Rhyme 1 2

Can anyone provide a simple rhyme about fireworks for us to use for our rhyme of the week after our 2-week half term? [Yes, I know!!] I've looked on the Northumberland GFL site, and the American Rhyme a Week, both of which I often use, but there's nothing. Anything else I've found has been far too wordy for this age group, especially as we have the little ones in with the preschoolers. I would really appreciate your suggestions. 4 - 8 lines maximum would be ideal.

We did this activity last year on bonfire night and our children spent all day at the messy table. You need to put milk in a large container. Drop two or three drops of food colouring in the middle and give the children a cotton bud soaked in cooking oil. When they place the bud in the milk mixture the food colouring shoots off in all direction. You can repeat putting the bud in the milk and the fireworks continue to change. See the photos

Rocket Maths

Thought I'd share photo's of an interactive wall display I did last year at my preschool, based on rockets and mathematical / positional language. All you need is rocket shaped card, string, drawing pins and display board. The children enjoyed moving the rockets along the strings or pegging the numbered rockets in sequence 1-5 or countdown 5,4,3,2,1. whilst staff encouraged the use of the language. Peggy
