Hi everyone. So an issue we have noticed over the last couple of years is a handful of parents saying their children will be staying with us until starting school and then they either inform us a week before term is due to start that they are now going to school nursery or they simply don't turn up and we find out they have gone to school nursery without notice. We are finding this unfair as we turn children away due to having such a big waiting list and then the first day of term comes and you find you have places you didn't expect to have! Does anyone else have this issue and any tips around this? We are looking into having an application form fo…

Hi, I have looked on the government website to check if a teaching assistant diploma level 4 is a full and relevant qualification to work in the Early years but it's not very clear. Any advice please.

Hi, Does anyone employ unqualified staff to work in the Early years. I know it states in the guidance that individuals over 17 can be counted in the ratios if the provider feels they are competent and responsible but I guess I just need some advice and reassurance as a new manager that this is okay.

Hi We are a committee led pre-school at the moment and upon possession of our new building, we have been asked to become a limited company. Has anyone been through this process before and do we have to re-register with Ofsted which could possibly mean losing our past two outstanding ratings, interviews, medicals etc Any advice would be most appreciated.

Has anyone got babies to three or higher together? We have a small room just 12 children aged 2-3 and are lowering this room age range to nine months. Inspector said we needed a sectioned area for babies, it says 'there should be a separate room' not must. We are thinking putting a section around our reading/cosy space to create an environment enclosed type space to allow for tummy time etc. Hows anyone else provided this space if dealing with a wide spread age range
