Am having lots of moans so want to check I am not asking too much! My girls have an area of learning they plan an adult activity on weekly, this is based around their key children. They also individually plan so see what their children have enjoyed one week and how to enhance it the following week, this is noted on a big board so they can go in daily and set up With their planning all children can take part it is then evaluated. I'm thinking of starting a parents forum. I was just wondering if anyone does one, if so how often do you meet? Do you also have a set agenda and agree items before hand or just see where the meeting goes.

In the statutory guidance for this ratio it states that the person must hold Eyts/Eyps or a relevant level 6. I have staffing problems this weeks due to emergency dental appointments, pregnancies and dependent's of staff awaiting operations, I hold a BA Hons in Education and Professional Practice, do you think this would count if I get caught short? Obviously I'm trying to arrange possible cover but **** law it will all go to pot!! Thanks

Hi We are really finding it difficult to get children into our setting. We have a large banner on the main road near our village and a sign outside the village hall. We have had an advert put in the local soft play brochure but parents have told us the brochures are never out to view in the centre. We are based in a village that is around 100 houses and its a dead end so there is no passing trade. We have always been low on numbers (we've got 10 this term). As it stands we have only got 5 children down on the list for September. We have looked into moving premises but cannot find anywhere suitable If we can't get anymore children in we will have to close in July. We h…

I am hoping someone can help, I have been asked to produce a document, a one page profile for our families to fill out, to let us know if they need any areas for support, the idea being that we get to know the families really well. I can understand how important this is but I feel that parents will not be that open if they have issues they want help with. I will angle it towards our links with the children and families centre and that they can help with bed wetting, job seeking and parenting classes, seeking advice for single parents or family disputes..... I am just wondering if anyone here uses such a document and how well parents take to being asked such questions, and…

Hi I have trawled through but not found an answer that fits, so hoping someone can help! We are a TTO Preschool open 4 mornings per week. I work all 4 mornings plus the other morning at playgroup, most other staff do 2 days each. Apparently, they are paid their holiday pay in August - 20 days, pro-rated for part timers. I'm not sure this is right, so do I work it out by working out the hours worked over the 39 weeks and put that into the government calculator?
