We are in the process of getting new staff checks and updating old CRB checks that are over 3 years old. I have vague recollections that the actual copies weren't allowed to be held; just name, date and CRB number. Is this still the case? Our supervisor has asked a member of staff for hers to copy and she came to me to ask if that was ok. I told her I didn't think it was allowed but I've just done a bit of research and it says that DBS copies can be held with the applicants permission. So,was I making it up about holding CRB information and is it now okay to hold copies of DBS? Thanks!

Hi All So we will soon (after all the checks we have to do) be getting an extra 51p per child per hour enhancement to 'close the gap' for eligible children. Ofsted will be judging us on how we spend this money to improve outcomes for these children (not that Ofsted have a single clue what to check) so how are you planning to spend this money? I genuinely want what is best for my children, but I'm more concerned with how Ofsted value what I provide as, at the end of the day it's one box ticking moron who visits every 4 or 7 years or so that tells me if I am doing a good job, not 100s of happy parents xx

I was just wondering if anyone contacted shops or garden centres etc for donations when working on projects. I'm working on a project to our garden up but I have limited budget. I was thinking of emailing or phoning local shops to ask if they would consider giving donations or selling us damaged goods at a reduced rate. I don't want to sound like I am begging but I thought I might get something and make my budget go further. Has anyone tried this and did it work?

Hello, I am new to this but you won't believe how happy I was when I found this forum It's just good to see that some of you out there have similar problems with staff/children/parents etc. I was seriously loosing my mind thinking that it is only me!! Do you also have problems with recruiting the right staff?? I have to say over the years it has become more and more difficult I advertise on many websites, use agencies but it is not going great. I would have thought there are thousands of people who want to work in childcare but obviously not! It's just frustrating because it is so important to have the right team! I have hope!

I have been waiting for a learning journey to be returned, despite almost daily nagging, since the end of November    . The parent is full of promises but it never seems to materialise! The next report is due at the end of this month! Not sure what to do - any thoughts?

I send out questionaires yearly for parents and children to complete. There is a space for name on the bottom. As not many are returned I am wondering whether I should just let them be returned anonymously. What do you think? I am just about to send another one in the next day or so. V

If within your long "to do" list you knew that you could call a number and have an individual appear who could complete tasks for you, thus allowing you to do other things; what tasks would you assign to them? This may seem a little strange but I would really appreciate a little feed back! Thank you
