On the last but one day of term a grandparent gave us a letter from his daughter. It was handwritten and four pages long complaining about all the things we supposedly did not do for her daughter during her time with us. Most of it un true and incidents that we thought we had sorted out at the time. I wrote a letter acknowledging it and saying we were disappointed she had not come to us earlier if she felt issues were not resolved. She is going to school in September thank fully not the one attached to us (sorry). Today I receive a letter from ofsted saying a child hit bit and bullied without us interveining. A child was left to draw on themselves showing lack of supe…

I'am confused as what to do next! I have been a level 3 for 10 years now, i spent first part in a private nursery then moved into out of school care where I gained a level 4 in playwork. I ran my own out of school buisness for 6 years eventually moving back into early years in 2010 - I now manage a pre school. That is my background and as you can see a huge part of it has been managment, I want to look at doing something else to add to my qualifications! (i can get bored easily lol) I've done nearly every course going and i'm also a qualified Assessor but when I looked into going for EYT i would still have to do 5 years as I do not have a degree! is it worth me going fo…

Great. So thought I would share this information with everyone maybe it will help someone in future and to get an idea of what might happen. A member of staff has decided to resign with immediate effect and has now called LADO on our case. All issues have been investigated and policies followed. She has done this to another setting in the past and tried to get them in trouble. We have informed OFSTED naturally. BUT what will happen next?

Our Pre-school runs out of a village hall which is to undergo work very soon. I have just received notification from the chair of the village hall, that we are expected to move all equipment from our storage rooms before the first week of term into a shed, so the work can commence at the beginning of Sept. We are still on holiday at this time and also I wonder who will pay us to do this? I have also been informed workmen will be everywhere and the toilets we normally use will be under construction so we will be given a portaloo outside the hall! Can they do this? Don't we need more than one toilet and what about nappy changing facilities? Also if work drags on I w…
