We have just taken on a new member of staff to start in September and last night someone told me that her husband had been in prison for physically abusing his own children! She is 'almost' sure it was for that anyway...... The lady is lovely, has a clear DBS and has only been with her husband for 1 year after moving in to the area so this all happened before she met him - IF it happened. My worry is that we are based in a very close and smallish community where everyone knows everyone's business and so this 'could' reflect badly on the setting HOWEVER my opinion is that the lady is fantastic and should not be judged on what her husband has or has not done So what wo…

....does this negatively impact your occupancy? I cant decide whether to offer half days or not...we will be full day care and as a new nursery I am more inclined to go with full days than half days OR would you advise that as a new business all things go in order to get our numbers up?

Dear All, I'm looking for a system of tracking for nursery on which I can have all of the children and see at a glance within which month band they are working. At the moment we have a paper system but I'd like something I can do a bit more with, comparisions of groups etc. We would like to keep our current system of paper learning journeys, so am I right in thinking prams would be more suitable for us? Or something similar? Thanks

Two of my staff went to a Network meeting for OOSC yesterday and were told that we would now be getting warning of inspections. I am pretty sure this is wrong or at least not for early years. Anyone heard this sort of thing? They were told that it has happened to OOSC in the area.

The basic cost of our uniform seems to be increasing each time we order. The children just wear a basic light blue or pink polo shirt and a blue sweatshirt with our logo on - does anyone have any recommendations pls?
