We can walk to a local school. The 2 keyworkers of the children visiting are level 2 (working towards 3) we cant spare another member of staff. They are First Aid trained, would you allow them to go?

We run and pay rent for our playgroup at a Scout Hut. We do not have a postal address there as the Scouts refuse to let us put up a post box on the gate, (there is no access to front door as gated garden in front of access). I am sure we must be losing mail but I do not want my personal address on any parent based correspondence. All our application forms forms for potential parents ask that they hand deliver the form. Is anyone in a similar position? Do you use a PO Box no?

After working as manager for the last year and a half I have gone and taken the huge step of handing my notice in. I don't know if I feel relieved that the pressure is now off of me.....does anyone else feel like it takes over their life??! Or if I feel like I've failed by leaving. Bit up in the air with it really. Time to tie up loose ends!

Hi all As part of our actions from Ofsted, we have been told to review our routines to ensure that they do not interrupt childrens play/learning. In order to help this, we agreed that rather than have set nappy changing times, we would check nappies and change as needed but with 20 2 years olds, I am worried that one will be missed at times. How do you manage this is your settings? do you change nappies at set times? if so, how d you ensure this does not interrupt the childrens play? or do you have a more flexible approach and how do you ensure that no child gets missed? I'm sure it's straightforward but at the moment I cant see the wood for the trees! Thanks!

How do you find vertical ratios work in your setting? Do you think they are more challenging for staff with having different age groups or more enriching?

Hi I paid my invoice and upgraded from 60 to 90 children on Tapestry last month (I have checked and there is a payment to you on our bank account and we had an email from you saying I paid it on 19th June this year). However it has gone and says is no longer active and that I have not paid it. Can you check this for me.

Hi everyone, I just felt like I needed to hear some other opinions and know that everyone here is very knowledgeable. I just took on a position as manager in a brand new nursery. The nursery is run by 2 people, one of which has nursery experience and the other being the registered provider. I was offered the job a while back and accepted it. Then due to difficulties with the refurb everything got delayed by almost a month. I was lucky to be in a position of being able to keep working until the new nursery was ready. I then had to work from "home" for a week. I was asked to complete a variety of tasks that were entirely unreasonable as I had not even been to the prem…

I've got a 19 month old who grabs others round the neck and will not let go, even when they're screaming. She knows it's wrong because she never does it in front of my, she'll take on any size child. The other children say she was playing nicely before the incidents, no signs of taking toys etc. I've been sitting her next to me after, but she not that bothered?? Need advice please.
