What would you do if you thought a member of staff had plagiarised work for a Level 3 qualification? That is just copied someone else's essays and sent them off. I cannot see how I could prove it but I have worries based on a few things people have said. When doing the course, this member of staff never asked any questions, never did any obs etc for it at work and didn't really seem to learn anything useful from doing it. But she got all As for every essay and goes on about that all the time.

I'm going to call the PLA about this today but thought I would post on here as well to see what you knowledge people know !!! We are planning to offer 2 lunchtime clubs a week due to parent feed back. We only open for mornings at present 9.15-12.15. Our current thinking is that Lunchtime will be 12.15-1.15 and this will be a payable extra. One of my members of staff has had a change in circumstances and can't do regular extra hours so I may be down to 3 staff on one of the days ( max 20 children) My question - is a lunchtime club classed as different to a preschool session and so has a lower ratio ????? It would be helpful it it was !!! but I assume not. I want…

So we have just had a phone call to say that Ofsted are finally coming for a 'Meet and Greet' in order for us to obtain our EY number and to become fully registered. This process has replaced the 'Fit persons' interview. Has anyone had ANY experience with one of these? Is there any advise that I can get please!!

We are 5 yrs since last inspection and it's driving me mad! I know things should always be the same, blah blah, but the tension is reaching fever pitch! How this is an improvement is beyond me. I want things to go back to yearly inspection with same inspector (like SS used to do) then full EYFS one every 2-4 yrs depending on last. Anyone else on tenderhooks?

I have a position vacant for a Pre-school Assistant, ideally I would like a level 3 applicant, today a childminder approached me and asked about the job. She didn't know what level her qualification was, but she is fully conversant with EYFS 3etc., and we know her as she picks up one of our little chaps each week, Anyone know what level she is likely to be equal to? Obviously this is very early days I will be doing some proper research!!!

We have a 2 year old child with English as a Additional Language, who has started scratching the other children. The other parents as now starting to get really upset, I have completed a ABC chart to seeing if there are any triggers and at the moment there does not seem to be ( I know it must be somthing). The mother of the child biting is also getting really upset, does anyone have any information that I can give the mum about this being a stage that some children go through and they will come out or it and how they can help them at home. Many thanks WellerKaren

Does anybody do learning logs for their staff? They have been suggested as a way of showing staff professional development.

Quick question we have little friends back in the hall. Now we have in the past had them and taken all the right precautions but I did let Ofsted know. They didn't seem to bothered to be fair. We now have them back. Do we actually have to let Ofsted know? or can we just complete risk assessment write down all the measures taken and keep it on file? just thinking as a country pre-school I could be permanently notifying them seems quite excessive

Managers Observing Staff

Hi, I've tried searching to see if someone has already posted something similar to what I'm after but I can't see anything. Maybe someone can help. I'd like some kind of observation sheet so that I can observe staff's performance in a session. It would include factors such as interaction style I think. I have a few tools I've developed for staff to evaluate their own practice but haven't really come up with one for myself. I want to use this to inform Development Meetings and Annual Appraisals so judgements are a bit less subjective. Does anyone have something I could look at and adapt? I'd be very grateful!
