Hi I'm still fairly new to all this and as our numbers grow I am spending more time doing invoices and checking ratio etc. Can anyone recommend an affordable software package that would create the invoices. Also how does it work with the free 15 hours needing to be credited! Thank you!

we currently have 2 staff at level nvq3, my question is when we are free flowing inside and out, do we need one level 3 outside and one inside at all times? There is of course other staff either outside or inside but they only have nvq level 2. As one of our staff memebers states we need to at all times?

Do I need to complete the reference section on EY2 again? Only completed one in Jan for change of running of the group from charity to company. I know I need to complete EY0 and EY2 again but not sure if I just fill it all in again or not. Also when it asks is it ready for inspection, what do you define as ready? We have not moved in yet but all policies and procedures are ready as were just simply moving premises

Are we the only setting under massive pressure to take on more and more funded 2 year olds? We offer these places as and when we can but (and please don't lynch me) the paperwork is crazy and the parents don't get that they are entitiled to it IN THE AUTHORITY, not AT OUR SETTING!! I agree with the theory but once again the funding comes far too short so how do I say no without seeming to be 'inflexible' I tried the 'we are full' way but was told I should be prioritising funded 2 year olds over paying families, grrrrrr!! xx

Does anyone know, if we should be asking for NHS numbers on our registration forms. We have recently purchased Instant Nursery Manager software and its one of the fields on there to complete. Is there any reason why we shouldn't be asking for this?

I have been operating from a village hall for many years and had use of the car park as our valuable outdoor learning environment solely. We have put money into it and nurtured it along the way. Due to restrictions in parking at the front of the hall, the management committee now want to restrict the use of our outdoor space to use it to park cars when other users are using the rear room when we are present for some of the week. Am I being unreasonable to object!! There is always something and it always seems to be the pre-school that has to accommodate the changes. Do other settings operating from similar venues have these problems?

A packaway setting

HI all Just been registered (we took over form another pre-school that closed). We are based in a hall and have the usual of not being allowed to leave anything out..not even put anything on walls, got carpet on the floor (still going to do messy play though...just lots of potential carpet cleaning!) and a shed to store everything. Managed to get the hall committee to give us a kitchen cupboard!! So setting up and packing away is going to be difficult especially as there are only 2 staff. 1 staff to set up and do all checks (me) and 1 staff to pack away (either deputy or myself). 1 staff paid 1 hour for setting up and packing away (incl cleaning). Have to be out of the …

Need some help...................one of children is moving to Wales, it will be after headcount week, so will I have to transfer his hours to his new setting, and if so, how does this work?? Looking on-line, it seems that he will only be entitled to 10 hours in Wales, against the 15 he gets here. Going to miss this little one...............

Can I ask church/community hall users what rent you pay per term or month please? Seems to be an issue all of a sudden with our church despite a letter in January saying they weren't increasing it but letter last weekend mentions the fact we don't pay full rent 4 times. We currently pay £275 a month, £1100 per term. I have had no say in the rent nor have they approached us to see what we can afford but just want an idea so I can approach them and come to some agreement with them

Hi I just wondered if you do any monitoring or mock inspections with your staff? We want to ensure consistency with staff but I think if I go in to watch sessions I need to have something to work with (What am I looking for etc.) Thanks
