Hi Does anyone have a sample of a letter that I can send to another setting to request the sharing of information please? We have children who attend another setting as well as ours and I know it's good practice. Thank you

Parents' meetings

Hi , just wondering if anyone has a proforma that they use for parents' meetings. I'm thinking about having some sort of sheet that the staff can use to plan what they will talk about, strengths and any concerns etc plus a space to record what the parents say. Does anyone have anything like that they'd be willing to share to save me creating one from scratch? many thanks

Hello We have a parent who has employed a nanny over the last couple of weeks. The Nanny keeps leaving the younger child (1yr) in the car at drop off and collection time, the car cannot be seen from the setting and it's about a minute walk away if your rushing. When we've suggested she should be doing this she always replies "mum does it" Your advice would be gratefully received

Hi Everyone I recently arranged epi pen training for me and my 2 supervisors as we have one child with an epi pen. A nurse from the local hospital came to us and trained us within half an hour. We were charge £40, which was fine. Now one of the supervisors is going on long term sick leave and I wanted another member trained up. I looked into the online training that is now accredited for PLA insurance BUT it is £108 plus it takes 6 hours. Is it me or is this just another 'TAX' on our business (a charity). First aid training costs £200 a person (including fee's and wages) the insurance policy costs £100's each year. The allergy part is covered in the first a…

OFSTED AND QUALIFICATIONS
by Guest- 7 replies

I know this is sad but I wanted to see what effects qualifications were having on OFSTED grades in my local area. I looked at the first 40 reports that came up for the last year. 4 were inadequate. 2 level 3, 2 with degree. 10 were satisfactory. 2 level 3, 8 with EYP or working towards. 24 good. 10 level 3, 10 EYP or QT, 4 level who had maintained setting grades or improved. 2 outstanding. 1 level 3, 1 QT. It's a worry that so many settings are satisfactory or inadequate with managers/leaders gaining or working towards EYP. I know the government is looking at the postive grades but what about the children who are missing having the skills of that leader for …

sorry all so many questions today. Out of interest who pays for planning and how much in terms of time do you pay? For example we get paid half an hour a week but we do more and one of my staff have a problem with this. committee say no one pays for planning so just wondered if they were right?
