We are going to be looking after a month old baby soon, mum is starting a new course, baby has not been immunised so I have advised mum to get it done before baby starts. We look after babies but not one so young, has anyone got a care plan or template we should have in place like sleeping charts etc, to share please, or advise. Thanks.

I have recently, 2 weeks ago, been on an Enco course, and now have to put together an Equality working group. Its very much like going into the wild unprepared, so am wondering if anyone else has done this and can offer any advice. What do I write in the letter to invite people along, what do we discuss, how often do they need to be carried out? Sorry, I have so many questions as it is all new territory for me!

Please could anyone tell me what the minimum age is for applying for a CRB disclosure? I have a volunteer starting who will be 15, turning 16, I've looked online but there is a lot of conflicting and out-of-date info. Thanks!

Hi all can I please ask for opinions? We have had a lot of children in our pre-school on the SEN register and in need of TAC meetings on a regular basis. In the past I have been the lead professional several times and therefore was responsible amongst other things for writing up the Early Years plans. Now the problem is we have no office and no land line at work and therefore no email or internet connection. In the past all the plans where always sent to me on my home email (as we have to do nearly all our paperwork at home) and I would fill it in. Encrypt it and then send it back with password under separate cover. My current SEN is dyslexic as such she doe…

We had our ofsted inspection on monday and this afternoon I had a call back from the inspector, checking that I was happy with the outcome now I had had time to think about it, she clarified a few things and then we had a lovely chat about children and child care in general. Is this usual? if not, well I think I was very lucky as it was nice to be able to chat with her more informally now that the inpsection was out of the way. By the way she was very interested in Tapestry and asked lots more questions about the analysis side of it as well as what other enhancements were on the way. Lots of love for Ofsted this week, don't very often get the chance to say that.

Hello! This is going to be difficult to explain without seeing my setting but here goes! I am a NQT (not early years trained) I applied for a year 2 position in an east London school and somehow winded up in the school Nursery when I came to start work. I wasn't phased at the time, just relieved to have a job I guess! So I went for it with all the enthusiasm I could gather! So I am in a 56 place nursery, the children are split into two sessions, they are 3+ with many EAL and a few SEN. I have a team, myself, a level 3 and a level 2. The area is huge! Enormous outdoor garden with all sorts of aparatus, a big carpeted space with home corner, writing area ets and a big…

I am looking at making a sign to indicate that nappy changing is taking place in the disabled toilet. Does anyone have such a sign or can suggest how it could be worded? Thank you!
