Does anyone have any top tips for stopping children from picking their noses? Sorry about this post, not the nicest to read, but things are getting desperate - no matter what I say or how I explain, I just can't seem to stop this horrible habbit; I have about 6 or 7 children who whilst sitting on the carpet (or indeed during any activity), have their finger up their nose and then wipe it in their clothes, on the carpet or on the furniture !! PLEASE HELP - ALL ADVICE WELCOME.

In our area it will be that time soon where all the parents need to make their applications to start school nursery in September 2013. As we all know, this is parental choice but most seem to follow the sheep and once one has made the decision to leave pre-school they all go - what do you do to try and convince them to stay with you?

Help, I seem to have mislaid my 'head injury' form on my laptop! Does anyone have a form they would be willing to share? It is to inform parents that their child has had a bump to the head and the signs to look out for etc. Many thanks! :1b

some of you will know the problems I have been experiencing with my commitee over the past few years, it was decided last June that we would become a CIC , run by staff, school govenors, teachers and some parents.... since the decision was made, we havent had anything to do with the commitee...we have seen the chair once, they sign a cheque if needed ( they are the only signatories, there are only 2 of them ). All of their children have left preschool now, and are in school. Things have been alot less stressful, we have been able to self -manage, without the stupid restrictions the commitee had continually put upon us. But.....we are still no further forward w…

Hello We have a new 'parent committee' who have just had their first committee meeting, and it was the first time in 8 years as Pre-school Leader that I was not invited to the meeting. I received the minutes on Friday and one of the topics raised, was a parent had been charged a late fee for being 15 minutes late and she was very cross about it. She had e-mailed all the parents complaining saying she had never been late before, which was not true. This policy has always been in place but rarely implemented. Last term however a lot of parents were dropping their children off between 9:15 and 10:00 - we open at 9:15 and they were collecting late, so I implemented …

Hi We have a little girl with special needs who I have spoke about on here before. My aunty volunteered to do 1:1 support since December. We had previously applied for additional adult funding We have just been given 6hrs a week additional funding. My aunty is happy to continue volunteering as she enjoys it and her benefits are not affected as she is not earning. My question is can we use the additional funding to buy extra resources to support this child as we already have the 1:1 in place?

Hi, Snow here has been really bad, I havent been able to get in to work and neither have some of my staff. I run an after school club which is open today but being run by the staff and committee that live close enough to walk. Haven spoken to a staff member, the head has asked them what the contingency plan is if parents physically cannot get to the club to pick up their children! To be honest whether niave or not i hadnt even thought of that as an option. Does anybody else have a contingency plan for parents not being able to collect because of the weather? Apparantely the head has had to put some staff up in a hotel tonight because they are not able to get …
