can anybody clarify a few things for me. i feel abit silly that i dont know this, but after a few phone calls today i dont feel as silly as i did, but a bit worried that OFSTED couldnt clarify this or my early years adviser, although i know the ratios for all ages 1-3, 1-4,1-8 etc my confusion is the qualifications that is needed. the EYFS states there must be at least one member of staff must hold a level 3 at least half a level 2 is this overall in the setting at one time, or in per room at a time also does students working towards a level 2 qualification count for anything. im just thinking of a situation, i have 5 children in my toddler room 1-…

We are currently having our contracts updated, but the management team are reluctant to include my 2 hrs per week 'admin' ( this is when i do all the prechool paperwork ) they only want my contract to show actual session hours. I have said i am not happy with this, and would like all the hours i am contracted for to be on my contract. Am i just being a pain the the rear end, or should my contract show the hours they would actually like me to work ? My current contract shows my admin hours.

Well kind of! I was super brave today and decided what is the point of having a blank of every form when I have it already as a master in other folders anyway....so I ditched all of that as it was a pain to maintain and have condensed 2 huge folders now into 1 that just contains any photos of things that OFSTED may not see on that day but we still do like Festivals, events, parent visitors etc. It is such a huge relief! I have just designed a sheet to stick at the front with a list of where they can find anything else they need form wise and it is a reference for myself too  Huge weight off my shoulders and cupboards :1b

What does a deputy do - I manage a setting I am there everyday on the nursery floor, I believe all members of the team can hold the fort if I am not there. So why do I have named deputy. Why spoil the dinamics of the team. Can some one tell me what does a deputy do?

(if so would be nice to have the full development matters doc in word also)! I vaguely recall someone saying they had the means to do this............ Thank you" OR....if anyone else has a ready made super …

Hi wise ones, can anybody explain how these work. In terms of funding If you are a nursery does an inset training day mean a whole day. If you are a sessional setting does it mean 2 sessions equals 1 inset training day. Any comments gratefully received.

Hi Wonder if anyone has an "ENCO folder" - We have an operational plan which OFSTED loved but have recently been told we need to make an ENCO folder, My brain is addled and I would be EVER SO EVER SO grateful if anyone could point me in the right direction as to what exactly the contents should be !! I have the folder, a nice shiny new one and a lovely label and some pretty dividers and have come to a full stop. I have googled and googled and go no real answers so thought you lovely lot might be able to help - thanks in advance for any words of wisdom.
