Yes, I am most definitely experiencing a sense of panic! So am coming for some calming reassurance and hints and tips!!! So, the 'move' is progressing at speed, new unit has been rebuilt inside, has had to be done from scratch which is lovely as been given a blank canvas, the design is great and the builders fantastic....still got plumbing, finishing off carpentry, flooring to go down, cubicles to be built, kitchen to be finished and decorating, moving equipment and resources in and setting up! That's inside.......outside.......whole grass area to be levelled, canopy to go up, hardstanding down, shed's and equipment to be moved, fencing, gates and entrances, planting …

I have just had a child come to me from another nursery in our village. She is 19mths old.The parents work every day and have brought her to me as i can offer 5 days and the other setting can only offer 3 days. The parents gave two months notice and said she was coming to me.They were not happy. The other nursery will not give the parents her profile or any documentation(transition forms) as they say they only do this for schools and not another nursery. I thought with Ofsted rules that the profiles and any education/development paperwork should go with the child... Where ever they go. Am i correct?????

hi, I am hoping to take on the pre-school I manage (it's currently committee run) as a private business from the end of February which is when I hope to have the lease agreed. As we are already operating and I am already the Manager but will become the owner and registered person too, do I need to give a certain amount of notice to OFSTED of the change? or (I hope!!!) is it a case of filling in some forms and applying but carrying on operating in the meantime? I intend keeping on the same staff and using the same premises but replacing the building we are in in 6 month's time; I realise I will have to contact OFSTED again regarding the new building. I am starting …

Hi all feeling dreadful and wondered if I could sound off a bit. We are term time only pre-school as such our contracts state that we should be available for work during term time and therefore all holidays should be booked in school holidays, barring one offs or special occasions (i.e. honeymoons etc..) in these instances staff should ask the committee if they can have the time off because of that specific reason the committee can then decide (to be honest they always say yes because normally people don't ask unless its a special reason and who wouldn't agree then) The problem now is there a staff member who had a one off special occasion holiday lat year in…

Does an after school club manager in a school that caters for EYFS have to be NVQ level 3 qualified?? I am assuming that by reading the quote In the welfare requirements " in groups all managers have to be qualified to NVQ level 3 and have 2 years experience..." means they do?? Just want to clarify.....
