Nursery Management Software

Hello Everyone I purchased a nursery management system 10 years ago for our pre-school setting. Now we have become a full daycare nursery I really need something better. However I want to make sure my investment is worthwhile. So was wondering what others use and how they find different systems. The biggest issue I have is invoicing. With then new 15 hours flexible funding I am having to manually work out the funding for each funded child, a nightmare and open to human error. I am really looking for something that can manage the majority of the paperwork of a nursery in one system.

hi im wondering if anybody can help clarify something. i am a new manager and deploy my staff with the correct ratios . i have heard recently that now ofsted go by how many staff there is in the building rather that per room. so does this mean that for example it would be ok for the toddler age room to have 9 children with 2 members of staff because i am super numery.

Today a member of staff had to collect her sick child from school and let me know that she wouldn't be able to work tomorrow. No problems, out comes the supply list. Six phone calls later and no-one is available! This has never happened before. I don't often gets "firsts" these days but this was a new one for me. ( I have managed to poach a staff member from the out of school club, who isn't usually available to work in the day but has kindly moved her commitments to help me out - hurrah for helpful people) That's my new experience -what has happened to you for the first time recently?

I manage a pre-school where we only serve snack and children bring in their own packed lunch. Do you think it is intended that all practitioners that prepare/serve snack will have to complete food hygiene training or do you think it refers to some 'in house' training e.g wash hands, where an apron, tie hair back etc.?

Pre-School Leader Interviews
by Guest- 5 replies

Hi! I am the EYFS Leader at a small primary school, I have been asked to join the panel interviewing for a new pre-school leader (the pre-school is on our school site but not directly linked to us). I have been asked to think of some questions but having never done this before I don't really know where to start! Does anybody have an idea of the types of questions we should be asking apart from the general sagfeguarding/parental ones. Many thanks. Claire

So we are rapidly approaching transfer time again and I am keen to get a handle on this before it's too late! Every year, it seems a mad rush to get transfer documents written and for the children to add their parts to. Our manager also likes to check them before they go out so this all takes time. We have 28 children leaving pre-school this summer for school, so I was wondering how soon you would start to get these documents written up? The key person writes the transfers usually. These are then checked by me or my manager. Once we are happy with them, the children are then asked to add their comments/draw their pictures etc. Once they are completed, we invite th…
