I walked into work this morning to be greeted by 2 members of staff who were over the moon because they had seen on "daybreak" and heard on the news that ofsted have said they will be stopping the requirements for any learning stories??????????? Now I would like to think that I know this isn't happening and I've read the new EYFS etc and can't see any mention of it. Did anyone see this programme and be able to shed some light at all please??

if a member of staff is unwell complaining of stomach ache all the time and not doing their share of the work because of the pain can I as an employer send her home and tell her she is unfit to work and not to come back until she is fit and well to do the job she is paid to do? or do I ask all the other staff to carry her share of lifting and carrying which is a lot considering we are a pack away group and have to do a lot of lifting throughout the morning this member of staff is the youngest and not the most productive member of staff at the best of times, so for her not be helping with the manual work means she turning up and being paid for very little work,…

We are reviewing our kitchen procedures currently. Our nursery cook is stating that the kitchen door LEGALLY has to remain closed the whole time. We are finding that this is very inconvenient when collecting snacks, drinks, lunch and tea! I have attempted to find some information on the internet about the actual regulations regarding this issue but I have not been able to find anything. Does anybody know the regulations on this????

Hello all, I am looking for a form that can be distributed to staff before an appraisal. Not an appraisal form but a form that is asking other staff to comment about the appraisees performance. Its called a 360 degree feedback process. Would like to see if anyone else uses it and if anyone has a template can help me start one up. Thanks in advance.

OFSTED came last week (not divulging result yet!) but I'd like to prepare a poem to say thank you to the children, parents and other family members that shows how much we value their input and support... Any ideas anyone?

Is there anyone out there who uses Superfox? If so, can you tell me what you think of it and if it's worthwhile? I don't want to spend time putting it onto my system if it's not going to give me anything I haven't already generated. Edit to say - I have a register I've generated myself in Excel and payroll software
