Hello, I was asked recently if we had a policy on staff conduct by a learning advisor. As we don't have an official policy I was wondering if anyone else has one I could modify to my setting please ?

Help needed please!! I currently work 20 hours a week term time only. My wage is spread out over 12 months which totals £600 a month. Now if I divide £7200 (annual wage) by 39 weeks (number of weeks worked) then by 20 (hours worked per week) then I get an hourly rate of £9.23 an hour (Which i think is about right) However this leaves no room for any holiday pay etc. Now I also work for local council on a casual basis but every 3 months we get a percentage of the hours worked in that period as additional wages. It usually averages around £130 ish every 3 months. Is the council being generous or are we entitled to additional pay for annual leave? I …

I suspect that in the near future we may need to offer some full time places, we currently do just sessional care as it is what we have always offered. If you do a mix of sessional and full day can you tell me what i might have to change/how you do your planning /whether there is anything extra i need to provide etc (it would only be for +3's/+4's)...having a slight panic that it might change the group too much and also that several of my sen children might want full days and we might have issues with supporting this(no funding for sen at present even though i am supporting 1-1) help!!

Sorry lots of questions tonight lol I am expecting my first child the end of May 2012 Now I am aware I need to inform work by 25 weeks of when I want to take my maternity, What I can't clarify is how long I am entitled too? Does it change because I'm term time only? I know if I was full time I could add on holiday entitlement etc but this is an on going issue (currently trying to get clarification on holiday entitlement) but I'm just so confused. Can anyone clarify what my entitlement is please?

Redundancy
by Guest- 2 replies

HI, i wonder if you could help, this is more a question from my sister who works in a nursery. she works fulltime and last week all staff were called to a meeting to say that they needed to make redundancies. Apparantly all seniors are safe, but they either need four fulltime staff to work part time (2.5 days each) or two fulltime staff to be made redundant. At the meeting four staff said they would work part time (one of these being my sister), but the owner said they had till the end of december to make their final decision. My sister has been thinking about it and she can't afford to go partime so she probably will have to withdraw and say she can't do it (sever…

Can anyone advise please- we are in a village hall, so shared by other groups, members of the public, hence why we cannot display photos of children on displays yet i have seen other public buildings with settings display pics and my previous place did too as that was also a shared hall. I s it just a parental permission situation or a myth ???
