Hi we have just had our nativity. I stood at the front and did my bit about fire exits then the photo bit. we are happy for photos for your own personal albums but please do not put on networking sites such as facebook. within and hour of it finishing guess what photos on facebook. another parent did remind this one that i had said no photos. I am going to put a reminder on our newsletter. I was looking at our phots policy and it was aimed more at what we do as staff does not mention events etc. Does anyone have something I could adapt please. many thanks Buttercup

I was just wondering if anyone else in a private setting will be affected by the one school intake? We have a baby room and the babies move into the older room (2-4)yrs when they are two....as there is only one intake into schools the children who would of gone to school in the Jan/April are now having to wait until Sept! Now the problem is there will be no spaces for the babies when they move into the bigger room between Jan-Sept....what do we do?

I'm in Kent. I have just noticed that I've missed the date for submitting the Estimate claim for Spring. Can't get into the website - haven't got any login details which they said in their letter they would send, but server keeps dropping in and out this evening anyway! Very frustrated at all this. I have sent fax this eve with estimated claim and covering letter - do you think I have any chances of them accepting this?

Hi! I am a Teaching assistant in a maintained nursery, which currently does 1 session a day. I am currently paid half hour before the session and half hour after for setting up and packing away. We are going to be doing 2 sessions a day again soon and there seems to be an issue over this time. I expected half hour before the morning and half hour at the end of the day, and had optimistically hoped for maybe 10 minutes in the middle to prepare for the next session!! The previous full time TA had 1.5 hours a day outside the sessions, which I admit seems a lot!!! What sort of amounts of time do other settings pay for this? I already work about half an hour a day ove…

Sorry to be here ranting away yet again but I am now at my whits end and don't know what to do. Picked up a child's file (learning journal) and I am shocked at the state if it to be blunt but honest. I fell I have a pretty straight forward assessment. All development matters spilt each area and each term key worker highlights what they have achieved and use the code at the bottom of the sheet i.e red baseline , green autumn etc. However I only have one sample but this is a child with very delayed speech and I can make head nor tail where she has him at. Seems a few development matters have two or three colours next them. However my main concern is that thi…

I am a Manager for a nursery in a chain. I have been at the nursery I currently manage for about 8-9 weeks, before that I was at my previous ursery, with the same chain, for 4 years. The Manager of the nursery I am now at left the company completely and I was moved there as they needed a strong manager in place; and boy do they!! I have uncovered lots of things in the short time I have been there; none of it good I am afraid, but the one thing that is worrying me alot is how much of a "control freak" the previous manager was. The girls are absolutely terrified to do anything without being told to do it; festivals, chaging lay out of the room, asking for equipment, tra…

hi all ....i have a problem (well a few but only one i'm prepared to discuss online! ) we have arranged a trip to the theatre for christmas. I do not arrange transport as the cost is just too much on top of the price of a ticket...all the parents have sorted themselves out so that's fine apart from one. I have a young chap who has some behaviour difficulties, he has never been to a trip because his parents do not drive. He is difficult to handle (except with us) and so asking another parent would be difficult, his parents would not come with him because they work. Any ideas? i would take him with my deputy in my car but have always said this is not on....now can't seem …
