Hi all Just need some ideas...its for out of school club. We have asked staff numerous times to ensure that they meet and greet parents when they arrive at club to pick up their child. So many parents on the last questionnaire said staff never aknowledge them, even smile, they could get their child and leave without any staff saying anything to them! Parents do have to sign their children out and its different than a pre school etc when the children all leave at the same time as at school club parents come whenever. Numerous times the committee have asked staff to keep hold of the signing in and out sheet so that parents have to find a staff member and therefore h…

the pre-school that i am running is loosing money. i have gone through the staff rota etc and can not cut down anymore apart from all staff have a planning meeting on a friday afternoon the staff get paid for 3 hours. i was wanting to cut these hours down by half and have got the support of the chairperson in doing this. the staff contracts do not state that they attend the meeting and get paid for 3 hours. does anyone know if i have to give the staff warning in the change of hours? as it does not say on there contracts? cutting these hours down will save us alot of money.

Does anyone have a staff appraisal form which they would be willing to share please? Our current one is quite rubbish to be honest (have no idea where it came from) and I would like to have a new one ready for next year's appraisals in January. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

After a pre-Ofsted inspection visit from our Development Officer I am tearing my hair out with policies. I thought they were all ok until she read through them and suggested a few are ammended - had a look in the resources and very few are up to date - would anyone be willing to share their policies so I can check what I am doing is right. Had a look on various websites and they all seem very long and complicated - am I missing something?

Hi all Well looks like the school club will be moving to be taken over by school ie board of governors. I know this therefore means that it will come under the schools ofsted. Just wondered if anyone knew about registration, rooms and numbers of children? At the moment we have use of 2 rooms and are registered under the 3 registers ie Eys, compulsary and voluntary for 48 children. Does this registration still apply when school takes it on or can they determine own numbers use all available rooms? Its just that last week reading my local ofsted reports there was one for the primary school and one for the school run club. When i loooked at each report they were…
