Sibling Discount

Hi all, We are a voluntary pre-school so sustainability is always an issue. We charge £3 per hour at the moment which barely covers costs. A prospective parent came to look around today with 2 year old twin girls. She asked whether we had a sibling discount and would we consider implementing one as cost is an issue for her with paying for two children at once. At the moment we don't have anything like this in place and I don't know whether we could really afford too although I understand her point of view. We have the prospect of losing a large pre-school group this July and not enough 2 year olds coming up we need all the children we can get. What sort of dis…

Sun Cream - When To Apply
by Guest- 12 replies

Hi Not sure this is in the right area or not. We were debating whether or not we should put cream on the children today. I decided if it was hot enough to warrant a discussion we should put it on. How do you decided when to apply sun cream Is it based on temperature? Given that in April we had days when it was 28 degrees we are not waiting for summer !! Is it written somewhere that I don't know about?

Oh dear, have completely forgotten and there is little hope for me - I am looking to revamp our application form, can anyone help? Are we allowed to ask any health questions any more, i.e. Are you currently taking any medication?, In the past 5 years have you had any medical conditions other than minor illnesses such as colds? If we can't, can we ask any newly acquired staff to complete a Health Declaration once they have been hired?

I had a child leave at the beginning of last week and it's all been very sudden, so I've found myself with a place for 3 sessions a week for a 2 year old or 4 sessions a week for a 3+ year old. We have a waiting list..actually at this time a year it's a big waiting list and this is where our problems begin. Our Admissions criteria states 'eldest first' BUT the person who is top of the list has actually just been allocated a school nursery placement for September alongside possibly the next 5 or 6 of them. would you give that child a place for this term knowing that they are going to leave in summer anyway? or give it to a child you know will be with you in Sept…

Out-side Musical Instruments

I want to buy some chimes to fix out-side. Had a look at Galt, Hope and TTS, but they all seem quite expensive. Anyone know a smaller company that might be cheaper? Does anyone have a set as I am wondering how they have weathered ?
